The bidder ~st sub~it withhi~ proposal a satisfactox~y check certified by a responsible bank and payable to~the order of the City of Santa Aha, or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate su~ o£ the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will ~nter into the~roposed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall become the property of the City. The amount of the'bond to be given to secure a faithful- ~erformsnce of the contract for said~work shall be fifty (50) per cent of ~he cbntract price thereof, and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (50)'per cent of the contract price for said wo~k shall be given to secure the payment of claims fo~ any materials or supplies furnished fe~ the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of any kind done thereon and the Contractor will also be required to fummish a certificate that he carries co~mpensation insurance cover- ing his e~ployees upon work to be done under contract whi~ may be _ entered into between him and the said City fo~ the construction of said work. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractors License ~ct, or to whom a proposal form has not been issued by the Clty Eng£nee~o The work is to be done in accoz~ance with the profiles, plans and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in office of the City Engineer~ Room 201, of the City Hall of Santa Aha, California. Copies of the plans ~d specifications will be fu~nished upon application to the City Engineer fo~ ~ich a deposit of ten (10) dollars will be requi~ed. The deposit will be ref~mded upon return of plans and specifications.
