TO CITY DATED AUGUST Sl, 19~l. ~i~REAS, heretofore ~.H. Whittier Company, Ltd., a California corporation, entered into a lease with the City of Santa Aha as lessee, dated August 2l, 19~l, for a period of one year, with the privilege of renewing said lease from year to year for additional periods of ~enty-four years, and ~REAS, under the terms of said lease the City of Santa Ana agreed to pay to said ~.H. Whittier.Company, Ltd. the sum of ~,~88.00 per annum in cash as the annual rental of the property described in such lease plus the payment of all taxes and assess- ments levied against the premises described in said lease which are payable during each such year, and ~i~REAS, pursuant to and under the terms of said lease, the City of Santa Ana has heretofore issued its certain warrant dated August G, 19~O, number ~$9, for the s~m of ~8,~8~.00, which said warrant was in payment of the annual rental payable in cash for the year co~enctng the ~lst day of A~ust, 1940, and ending August ~0, 19~7; and its warrant dated November 19, 19~, number l~lS, for the sum of $~,~57.0~, which said warrant was in payment of the taxes and assessments levied against the premises described in said lease payable during the fiscal year commencing July l, 19~O, and ending June 50, 19~7; and its warrant dated July ~B, 19~7, number ~5, for the sum of ~8,58~.00, which said warrant was in payment of the annual rental payable in cash for the year commencing the Blst day of August, 19~7, and ending August ~0, 19~8, all of which warrants
