<br />mite, collect revenues, and perform such other duties as are
<br />required by this Ordinance, or may be required by Ordinance or
<br />by resolution or by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha,
<br />
<br /> Section 26. That the compensation of the Market Master
<br />shall not exceed Three Dollars per market day, payable at the end
<br />of each calendar month out of the municipal market fund and out
<br />of no other fund, the amount at all times to be fixed by the Board
<br />of Trustees and provided however, that said compensation shall
<br />not during any fiscal year exceed the difference between the
<br />revenues and the expenses other than such compensation of the con-
<br />duct of such municipal market during such year.
<br />
<br /> Section 27. That incident to said municipal market the
<br />Market Nastar is hereby granted authority to procure verbal o~
<br />written leases upon vacant lots or other property within the Cit~
<br />of Santa Ana, to cultivate the same, and to market the products
<br />therefrom; to employ not to exceed six laborers therefor at a
<br />compensation not to exceed the sum of $2.25 per day each, commenc-
<br />ing with date to be fixed by Board of Trustees, and that the reven-
<br />ues derived from the marketing of said crops shall be paid into the
<br />Municipal Market Fund, and the expenses incident thereto shall be
<br />paid out of the municipal market fund ar.d out of no other fund
<br />in the usual course of payment of the City of Santa Ana.
<br />
<br /> Section 28. That the words "vendor", "Vendors" and as
<br />the same appears in this Ordinance are hereby defined to mean and
<br />include persons, firms, corporations, helpers, officers,agents
<br />and employees, and when used in the singular shall include the
<br />plural and when used in the plural shall apply to the singular.
<br />
<br /> Section 29. That every vendor, person, firm, corporation,
<br />as principal, agent, owner,officer, servant, helper, or employee,
<br />violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance or failing to
<br />comply~with the requirements of the same shall be guilty of a mis-
<br />demeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine
<br />not exceeding two hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the City
<br />Jail for not more than two months or by both such fine and imrieon-
<br />ment.
<br />
<br /> Section 30. The City Clerk shall cause this Ordinance to be
<br />published once in the "Santa Ana Daily Register" a newspaper pub-
<br />lished and generally circulated in the City of Santa Ana, and thirty
<br />days thereafter it shall take effect and be in force.
<br />
<br /> The above Ordinance was passed, adopted and approved this
<br /> 15th day of January 1917, by the following vote towit:

<br />Ayes, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf, Maryatt and Visel.
