<br /> appliances, apparatus, machinery, equipment or work which does
<br /> not conform to all the requirements of this section he shall,
<br /> in writing notify the owner or person in charge thereof, or of
<br /> the building wherein the same are placed, to cease using electri-
<br /> cal current in or through such electrical wiring, fixture, connec-
<br /> tions, appliances, apparatus, machinery, equipement or work, an d
<br /> to have the defect therein repaired within a reasonable time
<br /> not exceeding ten (10) days from date of notice.
<br />
<br /> Such notice shall be in writing, describe and locate the
<br /> building by street and number, and shall specify the particulars
<br /> in which such electrical wiring, fixtures, connections, appli-
<br /> anoesanoes, apparatus, machinery, equipment or work is defective,
<br /> and shall separately specify what is necessary to remedy such
<br /> defects. Such notice shall be entitled "Electrical Repair Notice?
<br />
<br /> Section ll. Except as otherwise herein provided and
<br />required, all electrical wiring connections, fixtures, appliances,
<br />apparatus, machinery, equipment and work hereafter installed,
<br />altered, repaired, added to or changed within the City of santa Ana
<br />shall conform to what is commonly known as the National Electrical
<br />Code of the National Board of Fire Underwriters Edition of 1915&16
<br />a copy of which code as now existing and approved and adopted for
<br />the purpose aforesaid is on file in the office of the City Clerk of
<br />said City, marked in ink on the outer cover thereto, "Code approv-
<br />ed and adopted by Ordinance No.626.. And a certain book entitlead
<br />"Electrical Utilization Safety Orders" of date January lst,191?,
<br />issued by the Industrial Accident Commission of the State of
<br />California is hereby made a part of this Ordinance, reference to
<br />which is hereby made for the rules and oders contained therein.
<br />
<br /> Section 12. Any person, firm or corporation as prinoi-
<br />ps.l, agent, officer, servant or ~mployee, who or which shall vio-
<br />late any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty
<br />of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by
<br />a fine of not less than $5.00 and not to exceed Two Hundred ($200)
<br />or by imprisonment for not less than two days and not to exceed
<br />fifty days in the City Jail. or by both such fine and imprisonment.
<br />
<br /> Section 13. Repeated violations of the provisions of
<br />this Ordinance or any pert thereof by any person, firm or company
<br />
<br />or corporation doing electrical work in said City shall constitute
<br />sufficient grounds for a refusal of the Board of Trustees thereof
<br />to permit such offender to continue such business therein.
<br />
<br /> Section 14. This ordinance shall not he construed to
<br />relieve from or lessen the responsibility of any person, firm or
<br />corporation owning, operating, controlling or installing any
<br />electrical wiring, connections, fixtures, appliances, apparatus,
<br />machinery, equipment or work, inside, outside, overhead, or under-
<br />ground in the City of Santa Ana for damages to any one injured
<br />by defect therein, nor shall the City be held as assuming any such
<br />liability by reason of the inspection authorized herein or certi-
