RESOLUTION 65-61 STATING AND DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 6TH, 1965 WHEREAS, the City Council by Ordinance NS-784 duly called and provided for the holding of a General Municipal Election on April 6th, 1965, to fill offices and submit to the voters three propositions; and W-HEREAS, notice of said Election, notice of nominees for public office, notice of measures to be voted on, notice that copies of the section of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana proposed to be amended could be had at the Clerk's office, and notice of the election officers and polling places were regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; the sample ballots and copies of the section of the Charter as it was proposed to be amended, together with copies of the propositions and all arguments in favor of and against the propositions were regularly mailed to all electors within the City, and sample ballots were mailed to those electors outside of the City but within the Santa Ana Unified and Junior College Districts; and said Election on said date was duly held at the polling places designated and the votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns thereof made in the time and in the manner and form provided for by law; and WHEREAS, on the 13th day of April, 1965, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of said Election. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETE~iINE AND ORDER, AS FOLLOWS: That the General Municipal Election was duly held on April 6th, 1965, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly canvassed and the returns thereof made in the time, form and manner required; and that all things were regularly done as required by law; that the absent voter ballots were duly canvassed and counted as required by law and the result of such count is hereinafter stated; that this City Council has duly canvassed the returns of said Election and from said returns it appears and this City Council finds that the total number of votes cast in each precinct for each person and for or against each of said three propositions, the n~ber of votes given in the City to each person and for or against each proposition, the whole number of votes cast in the City, and the total number of absentee votes cast in the City and in consolidated voting precinct No. 97 which consisted of two State and County precincts and of School District territory which lies outside of the City Limits of the City of Santa Ana, are as follows: -1-
