397 <br /> <br /> Special Election Precinct No. 9 shall be composed of <br /> election precincts of the city of Santa Aha now existing Nos. <br /> <br /> 30 '- 31 - 32 - 33 - 35 and which precincts are hereby c0nsolidatec <br /> into Special Election Precinct No. 9 for the purpose of said <br /> special election. <br /> <br /> The special election shall be held at and in said <br /> ~pecial Election Precinct No. 9 at th~ Jefferson School Build- <br /> ing, located on West Seventeenth Street, and which building is <br /> hereby designated as the pol~ing place for Special Election <br /> Precinct No. 9. <br /> <br /> A Board of Election is hereby appointed in and for <br /> S~ectal Elegtion'Precinct No. 9 to consist of one inspector and <br /> two Judges, each of whom is an actual resident of. Special <br /> Election Precinct No. 9 and a.registered qualified elector <br /> of one of the precincts of which Special Election Precinct No. 9 <br /> is composed. <br /> <br /> ~nspector - John M. Millen. <br /> Judge Pearl M. Finley. <br /> Judge - Gustav Stumpf. <br /> <br /> Section 3. 'l~e Board of Election hereinbefore <br /> <br /> appointed shall in the special election precinct for which they <br /> are appointed hold, conduct and make returns of said special <br /> election, and each member of the Boards of Election hereinbefore <br /> appointed shall, upon presentation of a proper demand against <br /> the city of Santa Ana, receive as compensation for bis or <br /> her services as an election officer the sum of ~$.00. <br /> <br /> Section 4, The polls at the polling places <br /> <br />hereinbefore designated and established in said ~pecial <br />Election Precincts ~os. i - 2 - Z - 4 - 5 6 - ~ - 8 - 9 must <br />be opened at six o~clock A. N. on the day of election and must <br />be kept open until seven o~clock P. M. of the same day, when <br />the polls shall be closed, except as provided for in Sec.ll64 <br />of the Political Code of the ~tate of California. <br /> <br /> Section 5. In all particulars not recited <br /> <br />in t~is Ordinance said special election shall be held and con- <br />ducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in <br />the city of Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> Section ~. '±~e electors of the city of Santa <br /> <br />Aha are hereby invited at said special election to vote upon <br />the proposition of altering the boundaries of said city and <br />annexing said new and unhabited territory thereto and incorporat- <br />ing the same by marking their ballots "for annexation" or <br />"against annexation" and said proposition shall be submitted by <br />printed ballot. <br /> <br /> ~ection ~. The Clerk of the city of Santa Ana <br /> <br />shall give notice of said special election by publishing said <br />notice in the Santa Ana Daily Evening'Re~ister, a daily news- <br /> <br /> <br />
