398 <br /> <br />paper printed, published and circulated in the city of <br />~anta Aha, Orange County, California, once each week for <br />a period of two weeks next preceding the 24th day of April, <br />1922, the date of said special election. <br /> <br /> Said notice shall state that it is proposed to <br />incorporate the territory sought to be annexed as a part <br />of the city of Santa Ana and invite the electors of the city <br />of Santa Ana to vote upon said proposition by marking their <br />ballots "for annexation" or "against annexation." <br /> <br /> In said notice the t~rritory sought to be annexed <br />shall be generally ~escribed in s~ch manner as to apprise <br />the voters of the particular lands sought to be annexed and <br />shall designate the'vo~ing precinct and the place at which <br />the polls shall be opened, the name and office of the elec- <br />tion bfficers hereinbefore appointed and the date of said <br />election. <br /> <br /> Section 8. The officers of's~ch'special <br /> <br />election shall i~ediately upon the closing of the polls <br />count t~e ballot~, make up and certify the returns o£ the <br />ballots cast in their respective polling places as quickly <br />as practicable in a manner proviSed by the laws of the State <br />of California and deposit all returns with the Clerk of the <br />city of Samta Ana. <br /> <br /> ,Section 9. The ordinance shall be published <br /> <br /> once a day for three consecutive days in the Santa Ana Daily <br /> Evening Register, a newspaper of general circulation publish- <br /> ed in the city of Santa Ana, Orange County, California. <br /> <br /> Section 10. This ordinance being an ordinance <br /> <br /> calling and otherwise relating to an election, the same <br /> shall go into effect and be i~ force from and after its <br /> final passage. <br /> <br /> The foregoing ordinance was accepted, adopted <br />and approved by the Board of Trustees of the city of Santa <br />Ana at an adjourned meeting thereof, held on the 2Vth day <br />of March, 1922. by the following vote of the members persent: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Trustees John G. Mitchell, ~. A. Greenleaf, <br /> <br /> J. W. Tubbs, C. H. Chapman, H. H. Dale. <br /> <br /> Noes: None. <br /> <br />Attest ,E. L. Vegely. <br />Clerk of the City 9f Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> The above and foregoing ordinance No. 681 is <br />approved by me this 27th day of March, 1922. <br /> <br /> John G. ~,~itchell. <br /> President of the Board of <br /> <br />Trustees of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> <br />
