require8 to seize and caY'fy to the public po~u~ all such <br /> vicious and dangerous dogs when not muzzled, also all female <br /> dogs in heat at any time in any of the streets or any public <br /> or unenclosed place in t~be City with or without tags. <br /> <br /> Section l~. The Pound-keeper shall keep all dogs <br /> taken t~ by him for two (P~) ~sys thereafter, and i£ redeemed <br /> shall charge an8 receive $1.OO for each dog, provided that he <br /> may charge $~.OO for rede~ption of a vicious, dangerous or <br /> female dog in heat, which ~oney shall be paiU to the City <br /> Clerk for payment into the City Treasury. If any doE be <br /> not redeemed within two (2) days said Pound-keeper shall <br /> destroy the same provided that vicious or dangerous dogs <br /> may be destroyed at any time after twelve (l~) hours. <br /> <br /> Section 1.~. Any person, who ~h~ll resist, obstruct <br />or prevent the Pound-keeper or any of his assistants in <br />the exercise of his duties as such shall be deemed guilty of <br />a misdemeanor and upon convtctio~ thereof shsll be punished <br />by a fine of not more than ~$100.O0 or by imprisonment in the <br />County Jail of the County of Orange, for not more than thirty <br />(30) days, or by both ~uch fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> Section 14. When any animal is taken up for im- <br />pounding which by reason of age, disease or other infir~ity <br />is unfit for further u~e or~ dangerous to be kept impounded <br />the Pou~d-keeper sh~ll, within 2~ hours thereafter, destroy <br />such animal upon examinati~ and reco~uendstlon of the City <br />Health Officer o~ his deputy, or any reputable veterinsry <br />surseon, but no charge therefor sh~l! be made against the Ct~ <br /> <br /> Section 1.~. The City Pound-keeper shall ex~cute <br />a bond to the Cits- of Santa An~ in the penal sum of (i~SOO. OO <br />with suc?~ security as shall be approved by th~ City Council <br />for the faithful performance of his duties. <br /> <br /> Section 18. That all ordinances or p~arts of <br />ordinances in conflict with this ordinance shall be, and the <br />same are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Section l~. The Clerk shall certify to the passage <br />of t~is ordinance and sh~ll ca~e the s~me to be published <br />three ti~es in the 4anta Aha Dail~ Evening Register, a daily <br />newspsp~r printed, published snd circ~dated in the city of <br />Santa Ana and' thirty (~0) days after its final pass~ge it <br />sh~]l take effect and be in force. <br /> <br /> The foregoing m~d~n~ce is approved this 28th day <br />of September, 1927. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />E.
