<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA AMA DECLARING RESULT
<br /> OF ELECTION IN "DELHI ADDITION"
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, a special election was held in that territory known as "Delhi
<br />Addition", on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1929, pursuant to the provisions of an
<br />Act of the Legislature of June ll, 1913, relating to the annexation of territory to
<br />municipalities, and found in the Statutes of 1913, Page §87, as subsequently amended,
<br />at which election there was submitted the question of whet~er said new territory
<br />hereinafter described should be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the
<br />City of Santa Ana; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, notice of said election was given by publication, in the time,
<br />form and manner as required by said Act, as appears fr°mthe affidavit of Orange
<br />Daily News, on file with the City Clerk; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was held in accordance with
<br />law and said notice on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1929, and that the polls for
<br />said election were kept open during the time required by law, to-wit, from six o'clock
<br />A.M. to seven o'clock P.M. of said day, and that said special election was held and
<br />conducted, and the votes received and canvassed, and the result thereof determined
<br />'and declared, in the time, form and manner required by law; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha did on Monday, the 18th
<br />day .of July, 1929, being the time provided for its regular meeting next after the
<br />expiration of three (3) days from and after the date of said election, meet and procee~
<br />to canvass the returns of said special election as required by law.
<br />
<br /> WHEREUPON, the result of said canvass having been found to be as hereinafter
<br />
<br />stated;
<br />
<br />The City Council of the City of Santa Ana do ordain as follows:
<br />
<br />1. That the new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Santa Aha
<br />
<br />as aforesaid is particularly described as follows, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> Situated in the County of Orange, State of California,
<br /> described as follows, to-w~: ,
<br />
<br />and particularly
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Tract No. 284 as recorded in
<br />Miscellaneous Maps, Book 14, Pages 1 and 2, Records of Orange County, said
<br />point of beginning being a point in the center line of Main Street and also
<br />an angle point in the boundary llne of the City of Santa Aha, California;
<br />thence Easterly along tSe Northerly line of said Tract No. 284, said
<br />Northerly line being also the City Boundary Line, to the Northeasterly
<br />corner of said Tract; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said
<br />Tract No. 284 to the Southeasterly corner thereof, which is also the
<br />Northeasterly corner of Tract No. 858 as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps,
<br />Book 19, Page 17, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly
<br />along the Easterly line of said Tract No. 858 and along the Southerly
<br />extension thereof to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and
<br />distant thirty (50) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi
<br />Road; thence Westerly along said line drawn parallel to and distant thirty
<br />(30) feet Southerly f~om the Northerly line of Delhi Road to an intersect-
<br />ion with the center line of Main Street; thence Northerly along the center
<br />line of Main Street to the point of beginning.

<br />2. That there was but one election precinct established and provided for
<br />
<br />the holding of said special election, the Doundaries of which were the boundaries of
<br />
<br />said territory.
<br />
<br />That the whole number of votes cast upon said proposition in the territo~
<br />
<br />to be annexed as aforesaid was one hundred thirty-two (132), and the number of votes
<br />
<br />cast therein in favor of annexation was seventy-nine (vg), and the number of votes
<br />
<br />cast therein against annexation was fifty-three (§~); and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of said election held
<br />
