perfox~m in a workmanlike m-uner the various operations incidental to the installation of <br />~lectrical worE. <br /> <br /> (b) Any applicant failing to pass a satisfactory examination shall be <br />i~eli~ible for re-examination for a period of four (4) weeks after his failure to pass <br />an examination. After four (4) weeks he may file another application and the Board of. <br />Examiners shall give him another examination. Any applicant who shall three times <br />fail to pass an examination shall not be eligible for re-examination for twelve months <br />after his last examination. <br /> <br />Section 8. F~.ES <br /> <br /> (a) Each applicant for a Master Electrician's certificate shall pay to the <br />Secretary of the Board of Examiners the sum of fifteen dollars at the time he files his <br />application. <br /> <br /> (b) Each applicant for Journeyman electrician's certificate shall pay to the <br />Secretary of the Board of Examiners the sum of five dollars at the time he files his <br />application. <br /> <br /> (c) Should any applicant fail to pass an examination, or, after having been <br />duly notified thereof, fail to take an examination, unless satisfactory cause is shown <br />to the Board of Examiners, the Secretary of the Board shall retain the fee to cover the <br />cost of the examination. <br /> <br /> (d) ~en certificates are renewed without examihation the fees shall be one <br />dollar for a Master Electrician's certificate and one dollar for a Journeym-~ electrician <br />certificate, provided that where an application for a renewal is not filed before <br />December 31st the renewal fee shall be the same as if an examination'were required. <br /> <br /> (e) Ail fees collected by the Secretary of the Board of Examiners shall be <br />handled and disbursed by the said Board of Examiners. <br /> <br /> (f) Should any electrician operating under a temporary permit repel to take his <br />ex,m~nation when notified, without sufficient reason he shall not be entitled to receive <br />any refund from the fee deposited with his application fbr a certificate nor shall any <br />refund be made to him. <br /> <br />Section 9. CHARGES AGAINST CERTIFICATE HOLDERS. <br /> <br /> (a) Any person may file with the Secretary of the Board of Ex'~ziners written <br />charges against the holder of any certificate issued by the Board of Exa~iiners, or of any <br />temporary permit issued by the City Electrician. Such charges shall state in detail the <br />nature and substance of the matters charged and must be signed with the full name and <br />correct address of the person making the charges. <br /> <br /> (b) The Secretary shall transmit such charges to the Board of Ex-miners at <br />its next meeting thereafter and the Board shall give careful consideration to such <br />charges. <br /> <br />Section 10. SUSPENSI0~ OR CANCELLATION OF CERTIFICATE <br /> <br /> (a) Should the Board of Examiners find that the holder of any certificate <br />issued by it, or temporary permit issued by the City Electrician~ has wilfully violated <br />any of the provisions of this ordinance, or of any ordinance of the City of Santa Aha, <br />or any law or ruling of the State of California, governing the in~tallation of electrical <br />work in the City of Santa Aha, or is guilty of any offense involving moral turpitude, <br />it in its discretion may suspend or revoke his certificate Or temporary permit. <br /> <br /> (b) Should the Board of Exam!nors find that any certificate issued by it or <br />any ~emporary permit issued by the City Electrician has been obtained by fraud, it shall <br />immediately revoke such certificate or temporary permit. <br /> <br /> (c) The Board of Examiners shall not suspend or revoke any certificate or <br />temporary permit until it shall have given the holder thereof at least ten (10) days <br />written notice to appear before it and show cause why his certificate or temporary permit <br />should not be suspended cr revoked. In showing such cause he may be represented by an <br />attorney and may introduce evidence. <br /> <br /> (d) When the Board of Examiners shall suspend or revoke any certificate or <br />temporary permit no refund of fees shall be made to the holder thereof· <br /> <br />SeCtion 11. APPEALS· <br /> <br /> (&) Whenever any person shall be aggrieved by any finding or decision of the <br />Board of Examiners, such persons may appeal from such finding or decision to the City <br />Council, whose duty it shall be to hear and pass upon the same· ' <br /> <br /> (b) No such appeal shall be allowed by the City Council of Santa Aha unless <br />the applicant shall first deposit with the Secretary of the Board of Examiners the sum <br />of fifteen dollars ($1~.00) as costs of such appea~i!to be taxed as hereinafter provided, <br />and shall within ten (lC) days after the finding or decision of the Board of Ex-m~ners <br />appeal and file with the said City Council of Santa Aha. a statement of his position, <br />stating wherein he has been prejudiced or aggrieved by ~he finding or decision of said <br />Board of Examiners. If the applicant shall prevail 6n appeal, his deposit for costs <br />shall be returned to hlmby the secretary.of the Board of Examiners; if his appeal is <br />rejected by~the City Council said fee shall be retained by the Board of Examiners. <br /> <br /> (c) When any person shall have complied with the provisions of subsections <br />(a) and;(b) of this section, i$ shall be the duty of the City Council, within t-~l~-~ (20) <br />days thereafter, to ex-m~ne into and de~ermine said appeal and if the members of said <br /> <br /> <br />
