<br />AND PROVIDING FOR HOLDING A SPECIAL ~IONICIPAL ELECTION IN
<br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, ON TUESDAY, THE 18th DAY ~F FEBRUARY,
<br />1950, TO DETER~INE ;~ETHER THE VOTEi{S WILL RECALL J. L.
<br />MCBRIDE, AS TRUSTEE FROM THE FIRST WARD, STANLEY E. G00DE,
<br />AS TRUSTEE FROM THE SECOND '~TARD, HOI'.~ER C. CHANE7~, AE
<br />TRUSTEE FR0~ THE THIRD WARD, W. J. KELLY. AS TRUSTEE FR0~
<br />THE FOURTH UL'~RD, AND F. L. PURINTON~ AS ~RUSTEE FR0}.~ THE
<br />FIFTH WARD, AND THE ELECTION OF THEIR SUCCESSORS, IN THE
<br />EVENT OF THE RECALL OF SAID OFFICERS; ESTABLISHING ELECTION
<br />PRECINCTS OF SAID CITY; DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES;
<br />THE HOURS DI~IING VYHICH THE POLLS SHALL BE OPENED; AND
<br />APPOINTING ELECTION 0FFICEJ~S TO SERVE AT SAID ELECTION.

<br /> WHEREAS, on the Bnd day.of December, 1929, a petition was filed with the City
<br />Clerk of the City of Santa Ana, California, demanding the election of successors to
<br />Trustees, J. L. McBride, Stanley E. Goods, Homer C. Chansy, W. J. Kelly, and F. L.
<br />Purinton, as members of the City Council of said City; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, within the ten days from the date of the filing of said petition the
<br />City Clerk of said City examined the same and found it to be sufficient, and on the 16tk
<br />day of December, 19~9 attached his certificate thereto, showing that said petition was
<br />signed by the requisite number of qualified ~oters of said City, and so certified said
<br />petition to be sufficient; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, on the 18th ~day of December, 1929, at a regular meeting of said City
<br />Council, said City Clerk submitted said petition with such certificate thereto attached
<br />to the City Council of said City of Santa Ana.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana do ordain as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That a special municipal election shall be held in the City of
<br />Santa Ana, California, on Tuesday, the 18th day of February, 19S0, for the purpose of
<br />submitting to the qualified electors of said City the question of, and to determine
<br />whether J. L. ~c~ride shall be r~called from office of Trustee of the first ward of
<br />said City and the election of a successor in the event of his recall; and whether
<br />Stanley E. Goode shall be recalled from the office of Trustee of the second ward of said
<br />City and the election of a successor in the event of his recall; and whether Homer C.
<br />Chaney shall be recalled from the office of Trustee of the third ward of said City and
<br />the election of a successor in the event of his recall; and whether W. J. Kelly shall be
<br />recalled from the office of Trustee of the fourth ward of said City and the election of
<br />a successor in the event of his recall; and whether F.L.Purinton shall be recalled from
<br />the office of Trustee of the fifth ward of said City and the election of a successor in
<br />the event of his recall. ,

<br /> Sectlon S. That there will be twenty-tkree (~Z) voting precincts for the
<br />purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election
<br />precincts established for holdi~ng ~he last general State and County election, as herein-
<br />after set forth, with the additions of certain annexed territory, all as hereinafter
<br />stated, and a Board of Election~ consisting of one Inspector, one Judge and two Clerks
<br />for each such consolidated precinct shall constitute the election officers to have
<br />charge of such election; and the following are hereby appointed to hold, conduct and
<br />make returns of said election as required by law, to-wit:~

<br />established for holding the last general Stats and County election Nee. 8 and 9, and the
<br />polling p~ace for such Consolidated Voting Precinct Nc. i shall be at the Z. B. West

<br />Voting ~recinct No. 1 hereby appointed are as follows:

<br />Precinct No. 2 shall be at the Lincoln School Building, situated on French Street
<br />between Fourteenth Street and Fifteenth Street; and the Board of Election for said
<br />Consolidated Voting Precinct No. 2 hereby appointed are as follows:
