ORDINANCE EO. 940° A~ ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA AMA CONSENTING TO THE TRANSFER AND ASSIGNMENT ~ FRANCHISE RIGHTS FROM THE PACIFIC TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TELEPHONE COMPAN~Z. The City Council of the City of Sauta Aha do ordain as follows: Section !. The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company, a Corporation, having sold all of ~ts telephone and telegraph properties, franchise rights and interests of every character in Southern California to the Southern California Telephone Company, a Corporation, and the Southern California Telephone Company, a Corporation, having requested the consent of the City of Santa Ana to the transfer and a signment of the franchise rights within the City of Santa ~na granted to the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company by~10~dinance No. 848, and now in full force and effect, which ordinance requires that upon a sale of such franchise rights the said City of Santa Ana shall by ordinance consent to such ' transfer in order that such sale shall be valid and binding upon the City of Sant~ Aha. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana upon considering said application and deeming that the public interest and convenience will be benefited, and that it is for the best interests of said City that said transfer be consummated, does h~reby consent to the transfer an~ assignment of all franchts rights granted by the City of Santa Ana under Ordinance No. 8~8, to the Southern California Telgphone Company, a Corporation, the assignee of the properties and franchise rights in Southern California of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company, a Corporation. Section 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinanc~ and cause the same to be published three times in the Santa~Ana Daily Evening Register, a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Santa Ana, and'th( same shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days from its final passage.
