~DINANCE NO. 9T6 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 971, AN1) AME?)ING SECTIONS 3, 4 and 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. ~2, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA PROHIBITING THE liANUE~ACT~E, SALE, STORAGE OR TRANSPORTATION OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, THE IMPORTATION THEREOF OR THE EXPORTATION THEREOF OUT CF SAID CITY FOR BEVERAGE P~IPOSES, EXCEPT AS IN THIS ORDINANCE PRESCRIBED AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ALL VIOLATIONS THEREOF". The City Council of the City of Santa Ana ordains as follows: '!SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 971, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AI'~H~NDING SECTIONS 4 and 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 662 ENTITLi!~): "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JANTA ANA, PROHIBITING THE IdANUPACTIM~E, SALE, STORAGE Oil TRANSPORT- ATION OF INTOXIC~TING LIQUOR IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, THE I~PORT~(TION THEREOF INTO Oil THE EXPORTATION TH!.Y.I?gOF OUT OF SAID CITY FOR BEVERAGE PD]IPOSES, ~CEPT AS IN THIS ORDINANCE PR!.]SCRIBED, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOIl ALL VIOLATIONS THERI£OF". and reading as follows: "The City Council of the City of S~ita Aha ordains as follows: That Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 662, entitled: "Al~ ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAIITA ANA PIIOHIBITING THE ~ANUFACTIPRE, SA~, STORAGE OR TRANSPORTaTIOi~ OP INTOXICATING LIQUOR IN THE CITY 0F SANTA ANA~ THE IIdPORTATION TltEiEOF INT0 0R THE EXPORTATION THki.~EOP CUT 0F SAil) CITY FOIl BEVERAGE PLvRPOSNS~ EXCEPT AS IN THIS ORDINANCE PRESCRIBED AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ALL VIOLATIONS TH]~RNOF~ be hereby amended to read as follows: 'Section 4. It shall be unlawful for any person in the City of Santa Aha to have on his person or in his possession any intoxicating ~iquor, except as provided in Ordinance No. 66~.~ ~Section 5. It shall be unlawful for any person to have, keep, or store any intoxicating liquor in any place within the City of Santa Ana~ except as provided in Ordinance No. 66~." is hereby repealed. SECTION 2: That Sections 3, 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 602, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANT~ ANA, PROHIBITING THE MANUFACTIX~E, SALE, STORAGE O!t TiIANSPO TATION OF INTOXCATI~G LIQUOR IN THE CI~ 0F SANTA ANA, THE I]'.~IPORTATION THEREOF INTO OR THE EXP0IITqTION T!{IiREOP OUT 0F SAID CITY FOR BEVERAGE PDi{POSES~ ~ICEPT AS IN TNIS 0i~INANCE PRO~SCRIBE~ ~D PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ALL VIOLATIONS." and reading as follows: Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person directly or 'indirectly to manufacture, sell, barter, deliver, furuish~ provide, give away or transport any i~toxicating liquor within the City of Santa Aha or to import any such liquor into or export any such liquor from said City, except as provided herein, and all provisions of this ordinance shall be liberally construed to the end that tho use of intoxicating liquor as a beverage in the City of Santa Ana shall be prevented and prohibited. Section 4. It shall be unlawful for any person ~ile on or in any public highway or public park Or in any vehicle or public conveyance or other means of transportation or ih any club, hotel, or in any private room or suite of rooms in any club or hotel or theater or store or a building devoted to a pnblic use or purpose or other public or semi-oul01ic place to have on his person or in his possession any intoxic~ting li$~or, except as provided herein.
