SECTION 5: It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or <br /> suffer any vehicle to~ be parked over time or beyond the lawful period of time as <br /> herein prowided, or to remain parked in any parking space while a signal showing legal <br /> parking is not displayed by such adjacent par~Ing meter. <br /> <br /> SECTION 8: It shall be unlawful to deposit or cause to be deposited in any <br /> parking meter, any slug, device or metallic substitute for a one cent or a five cent <br /> coin of the United ~tates, or for any person to deface, injure, tamper with, open or <br /> wilfully break, destroy or impair the usefulness of any parking meter. <br /> <br /> SECTION 7: All revenue received from the operating of said parking meters <br /> shall be used exclusively for the purchase, maintenance and repair of said parking <br /> meters, servicing and policing parking meter zones and for the elimination of the <br /> traffic hazards within the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> SECTIO~ ~ This ordinance shall be deemed to be in addition and supplementary <br /> to, and not in conflict~with nor a repeal of prior or existing ordinances of this <br /> City, but shall be an additional provision for the regulation of traffic and parking <br /> in those zones provided for herein. <br /> <br /> SECTION 9: I~ any section, part of section, sentence, <br /> <br /> this ordinance shall ~e held to be unconstitutional or invalid, <br /> <br /> hereof nevertheless remain in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> SECTION 10: Any person who shall violate any provision of this ordinance <br /> shall be guilty ob a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a <br /> fine of not exceeding three hundred ($500.00) Dollars or by Lmpr~sonment in the County <br /> Jail not exceeding three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> SECTION ll: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this <br /> ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in three consecutive issues of the <br /> SANTA ANA REGISTER, a newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Santa <br /> Ana, and hereby designated for that purpose. This ordinance shall take effect <br /> thirty (50) days from and after its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular <br />.~dJourned meeting held on the 28th day of January, 1942. <br /> <br />clause or phrase of <br />the remaining provisions <br /> <br />Joseph P.
