ORDIE~CE NO. llT1 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANGE ANENDING ORDINANCE NO. 349 AS <br /> ANMNDED, ENTITLED ~AN ORDINANCE RE~IRING <br /> THAT N~Y STREETS IN N~W SUBDIVIST©NS SHALL <br /> CONFORN TO THE STR!~iETS ALREADY EX~STING IN <br /> SAI~ CITY". <br /> <br /> The City Council and Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana does <br />ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3~9 entitled "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING <br />THAT NEW STREETS IN NE~V SUBDIVISI~NS SHALL COnfORM TO THE STREETS ALREADY EXISTING <br />IN SAID CITY", as'amended, is hereby amended by amending Section l~ thereof to <br />read as hereinafter set forth, and by adding a new section to be denominated <br />Section 1-3/4 and to read as hereinafter set forth: <br /> <br /> "Section l~. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, <br /> <br />(also hereinafter referred to as the City Council), shall not accept any new <br />streets, alleys or new subdivisions of land, or the map thereof, until all of the <br />following provisions applicable thereto have been complied with: <br /> <br /> (a) Before submitting any street or subdivision map to the City Council <br /> for its approval, a plat sh~!wing a complete layout of streets, alleys, lots <br /> and blocks within the boundaries of t~e area to be subdivided shall be <br /> submitted to the Planning Commiss[ n for its approval. <br /> <br /> (b) After the Planning Co~isst-n ~as approved the proposed subdivision <br /> map, the original tracings of the subdivision map to be filed shall be <br /> submitted to the Board of Trustees, together with cash, a certified or <br /> cashier's check, or bond, to be approved by the Board of Trustees, in the <br /> amount of the estimated cost of the improvements as a guarantee that the <br /> improvements will be made, with a statement listing the specific improvements <br /> to be made. <br /> <br /> (c) The following improvements are required on all new streets; the <br /> construction of curb and sidewalk, the installation of water, sewer and <br /> gas mains; the installation of sewer laterals and water services from <br /> mains to curbs; and the grading and paving of streets and alleys, except <br /> that the Board of Trustees may at its option omit the requirement for <br /> sidewalks where the construction of sidewalks would not conform to the <br /> appearance of the surrounding subdivided and occupied area. <br /> <br /> (d) All sidewalks a~d curbs shall conform to existing Ordinances and <br /> requirements of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> (e) All grading preparati~n of the subgrade and all surfacing shall be <br /> done in accordance with the Standard Specifications of the Department of <br /> Public Works, Division of Highways of the State of California, and to any <br /> and all special provisions and requirements of the City of Santa Aha which <br /> may be in force at the time. <br /> <br /> (f) The minimum requirements for surfacing of streets and alleys in <br /> strictly residential areas not subject to heavy, fast traffic shall be an <br /> untreated rock or crusher run base 4 inches thick after thorough compaction, <br /> upon which shall be laid plantmix surfacing, in two courses, the aggregate <br /> <br /> thickness of which shall be not less than ~ <br /> ~ inches when compacted. <br /> <br /> (g) On streets which are s~Ject to or may become subject to heavy <br /> and/or fast travel the Board of Trustees may require a thicker sub-base <br /> and surfacing than the minimum requirements. <br /> <br /> (h) On streets now open to public travel on which an asphalt concrete or <br /> oil mix surfacing has been constructed in the central portion of the street, <br /> <br /> <br />
