the above requirements on surfacing shall apply to all of that <br /> portion of the street lying between the edEes of the ribbon <br /> surfacing now maintained by the City (normally considered to be <br /> 20 feet wide) and the curbs, except that under no conditions will <br /> gravel surfacing and/or any application of sO-called penetrating <br /> oil be considered as surfacing. <br /> <br /> (i) All water lines will be installed as prescribed in <br /> <br /> Ordinance No. 105~ and amendments thereto. <br /> <br /> (j) All sewer lines and sewer laterals shall be of vitrified <br /> clay sewer pipe and shall have joints poured with an approved <br /> sulphur silica compound, or equal. In case the sewer pipe is of <br /> the bell and spigot type sufficient oakum or jute shall be used <br /> before pouring the joint to prevent any of the joint compound from <br /> entering the sewer pipe. Nanholes must be constructed at intervals <br /> of approximately 500 ft0 <br /> <br /> (k) All of the improvements shall be constructed according to <br /> the lines and grades shown on the plans. <br /> <br /> (1) Plans f:.r street improvements will be drawn in the City <br /> Engineer's Office unless other arrangements satisfactory to the <br /> City Engineer are made, for which the cost of all surveying, <br /> engineering and drafting, including the setting of line and <br /> grade st~kes for construction, and inspection, plus 10% will be paid <br /> by applicant. The bond or ~tber security for the completion of the <br /> improvements will not be released until such charge has been paid. <br /> <br /> (m) No street shall be accepted which is less than sixty (80) <br /> feet in width, unless: (1) the street to be accepted is an <br /> extension of an existing street which is less than sixty (60) feet <br /> in width, or (3) the length of a new street which might be developed <br /> (of which the street proposed to be accepted is a part) be necessarily <br /> less than 2,000 feet in length; provided, however, that in nb event <br /> shall any street be accepted of less than fifty (80) feet in width." <br /> <br /> "Section 1-~/~o The provisions of Section l½ of Ordinance 5~, <br /> <br />as above amended, shall not apply to any proposed new streets which have <br />been tentatively approved by the City Council on or before July l, 1~6, <br />but as to any such streets, the provisions of Section 1-~ of Ordinance 5~, <br />as it read immediately prior to this amendment, shall apply." <br /> <br /> Section ~: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this <br />Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published in three Consecutive <br />issues of the SANTA ANA REGISTER, a daily newspaper, printed, published <br />and circulated in the City of Santa Ana, and hereby designated for that <br />purpose, and thirty (50) days thereafter shall take effect and be in force. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Ana at its <br />regular meeting held on the 18th day of July, 19~6. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Erma Keeler <br /> City Clerk. <br /> <br />Asa Hoffman <br /> <br />Nayor <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA )S <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br /> <br />
