<br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, Agreemen
<br /> dated January 21, 1952 between the City and State Personnel Board to
<br /> render any desired services in connection with personnel work, was
<br /> approved and proper official authorized to execute agreement.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee Emnter,~ seconded by Jerome and carried, request
<br /> of MacFarlane Electric, on behalf of Safeway Stores Inc. for permissio~
<br /> to install an oval sign reading "Safeway" on a pole at Store No. 432,
<br /> at 1437 South Main Street, which sign will extend over and upon the
<br /> five-foot set-back line, was granted and proper officials authorized
<br /> to execute agreement.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried,
<br /> application of Orange County 4-H Club Council to solicit funds for a
<br /> bazaar to be held April 5, 1952 at ll8 West Fourth Street, was referre,
<br /> to the Business Men's Association for recommendation.
<br />
<br />Report of the City Attorney was read reference business license tax
<br />application to commercial ventures owned by religious organizations,
<br />and on motion of Trustee Hunter,.~econded by Jerome and carried,
<br />request of Loma Linda Food Co. for waiver of payment of city license
<br />tax was denied.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, the
<br />Minutes of the Joint Outfall Sewer Executive Board meeting held Janua~
<br />3, 1952, were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carried, the
<br />applications of Chester P. Gulick, Harvey F. Phariss and Charles W.
<br />Luken, Jr., to drive taxicabs, were received and permits granted.
<br />Communication Was read from Maynard B. Huff, Sunshine Homes, Inc.,
<br />advising that B~rhugh Estates Inc. has taken over Tract 1508 and
<br />requesting release of Tract Improvement Bond No. 600345, submitted by
<br />Burr W. Huff, Sunshine Homes, Incorporated. On motion of Trustee
<br />Dahl,.seconded by Jerome and carried, Bond No. 600345, submitted by
<br />Butt W. Huff, Sunshine Homes, Inc., in the sum of $40,000.00 was
<br />ordered released and substitute bond submitted by Barhugh Estates, Inc,
<br />in the same amount covering improvements in Tract 1508 accepted,
<br />subject to approval of bond by the City Attorney.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, Map of
<br />
<br />No. 1292 for the extension of Martha Lane west of Pacific wss approved
<br />and officials were authorized to sign same, subject to the approval by
<br />the City Attorney of bond filed by George M. Sandstrom in the amount
<br />of $4,000.00 to cover improvements.
