On motion of Trustee McBride, <br />seconded by Dahl and carried, the recommendation was approved and <br /> <br />project accepted as completed. <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, communioati <br />from Marion Lindsey complimenting the Council on its refusal to accept <br /> <br />Federal Housing aid, was received and filed. <br /> . <br />On motion of T~ustee Hunter, seconded by Jerome and carried, the rec <br />of The Salvation Army for permission to place cardboard bulletins on <br />t~he light stand~a~ds announcing Salvage Week Drive, beginning May 18th <br />through May 24th was g~anted, provided the bulletins are removed <br /> <br />during the week following the d~ive. <br /> # <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Aetna Life Insurance Company stating <br /> <br />that they have an application for a complete plan of hospitalization <br /> by <br />insurance which has been subscribed to/over 75 percent of the employee <br /> <br />of the Fire Department. On motion of T~ustee Hunter, seconded by <br /> <br />McBride and ca. tied action was deferred until the next regular meeting <br /> <br />and referred to the Administrator to obtain information concerning the <br /> to the City <br /> special cost involved~in the operation of the suggested program and <br /> <br />also to confer with the Fire Department in an attempt to bring all <br /> <br />employees under one group plan. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from Louise Smith Hopkins and Ruth Smith <br />owners of property at 104 East Fourth Street stating that a defect <br />exists in the main sewer line and demanding that the condition be <br />remedied. The City Engineer reported that the condition had been <br />taken care of and on motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and <br /> <br />carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /> # <br />Communicati~ was read f~om Augustus H. Allen and Georgia Allen, <br />owners of the east half of Lyon and Thompson~s Subdivision of Smith <br />and Lyons Addition stating that any offer of dedication of that <br />unnamed street or strip along the east line thereof is revoked. On <br />motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the with- <br />drawal of the offer of dedication was approved, accepted, received <br /> <br />and filed. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Hunter, seconded by Jerome and carried, proper <br />officials were authorized to execute lease between the City and <br />American Red Cross for rental of certain rooms at the Community Center <br /> <br />at rental of $256.50 per month. <br /># <br />On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee <br />McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Clerk was authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the furnishing of 5,000 feet of 12 inch, Glass <br />150, Bell and S~igot, cement lined, cast iron water pipe; bids to be <br /> <br />opened March 17th, 1952. <br /># <br />On motion of T~ustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing of <br />between 400,000 and 600,000 pounds of chlorine supplied in containers <br />of 2,000 pound capacity net weight; bids to be opened Marsh 17th, <br /> <br />1952. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
