<br />expressing thanks and appreciation to Fire Chief Garthe and his men
<br />for their valiant efforts in the fighting of the fire at the Broadway
<br />Theatre, was received and filed.

<br />Communication was read from Chairman, Civic Beautification Committee,
<br />requesting that the first week in April be observed as Civic~Beautifica~ion
<br />Week. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />communication was received, filed and Council authorized to sign the

<br />communication from City of Burbank, together with certified copy of
<br />Resolution 8349, in opposition to the proposal of the County Supervisor~
<br />Association for a 4% State Sales Tax to be participated in by the
<br />
<br />Counties, was tabled.
