ARTICLE V <br /> 5.0 ASSIGNMENT AND OTHER SPECIAL PAY ADDITIVES <br /> 5.1 Assignment Pay Differentials. <br /> Assignment pay differentials, as listed herein and throughout the MOU, will, in each case, <br /> be added individually and separately to the employee's base salary. In no event shall one <br /> (1) assignment pay differential be added to the employee's base salary as a basis for the <br /> calculation of an additional pay differential. <br /> A. An employee in the class of Police Services Dispatcher who is continuously and <br /> regularly assigned to and actually performing in a lead supervisory and trainer <br /> capacity over an assigned shift of Police Services Dispatchers will be paid <br /> assignment pay equal to five percent(5.0%)of base pay. A leave of absence for an <br /> entire pay period will result in the employee not receiving the pay for being a lead. <br /> B. Employees in the class of Forensic Specialist I,who are regularly and continuously <br /> assigned to and actually performing duties in a "lead" supervisory capacity over a <br /> primary functional unit of Forensic Specialist I employees,will be paid assignment <br /> pay equal to five percent (5.0%) of base pay. <br /> C. An employee in the class of Police Officer who is continuously and regularly <br /> assigned to and actually performing duties of a Corporal will be paid at a rate of <br /> two and one half percent(2.5%)of base pay. <br /> If a Corporal is assigned to lead a work unit without a Sergeant, they will be paid <br /> an additional two and one half percent (2.5%) of base pay. At the present time, <br /> Directed Patrols and Civic Center Patrol units are examples of such assignments. <br /> D. An employee in the class of Correctional Officer who is continuously and regularly <br /> assigned to and actually performing duties of a Senior Correctional Officer will be <br /> paid two and one half percent(2.5%) of base pay. <br /> E. The Police Chief at their discretion and based on the department's need may assign <br /> sworn officers to standby status for non-work days or other days as determined by <br /> the Police Chief. Officers thus assigned will be compensated at the rate of two (2) <br /> hours of straight time per day of standby duty. Officers assigned to standby status <br /> on non-work days will not lose their standby pay when called to duty, if they have <br /> been on call for at least six (6)hours when called. If officers on standby status are <br /> called to duty after having been on call for less than six (6)hours,they will be paid <br /> for their response to work, but not for their standby status. Employees on standby <br /> status shall provide the department with a telephone number at which they can be <br /> reached. The employee must be able to return to the department within the amount <br /> of time they would be able to return if traveling from home. An employee on <br /> standby/on-call shall remain fit for duty. Employees on standby are also subject to <br /> the requirements of the Department Procedure # 6003, which sets forth the <br /> guidelines for standby status. <br /> 12 <br />
