A G R E E M E N T <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, a Municipal Corporation and THE CITY OF <br />GARDEN GROVE, a Municipal Corporation, both situated in the County of Orange, <br />State of California, do hereby enter into the following agreement: <br />W I T N E S S E T H: <br />W11ERE,AS, City of Santa Ana and City of Garden Grove contemplate <br />the installation of a traffic control signal system and highway lighting to <br />provide for the orderly movement of traffic at the intersection of Euclid <br />Street with Hazard Avenue, within the City of Santa Ana and, the City of Garden <br />Grove. <br />WHEREAS, City of Santa Ana has a portion of three approach legs of <br />the highways entering the intersection within the City limits of Santa Ana; and <br />WHEREAE), City of Garden Grove has a portion of one approach leg of <br />the highways entering the intersection within the City limits of Garden Grove; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, both cities desire to specify the proportionate share of <br />the construction and maintenance costs to be paid by each City; and <br />WHEREAS, both cities desire to specify the city responsible for <br />the construction and maintenance of said traffic control signal system and high- <br />way lighting; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I <br />For and in consideration of the covenants and conditions to be <br />kept and performed 'by the City of Garden Grove, -the City of Santa Ana agrees: <br />a. To furnish traffic control signal system and highway lighting <br />he-reinabove mentioned, through construction by contract with contractors licensed <br />by the State of California, said contract to 'be carried out in accordance with <br />the provisions of the Government Code, and to be completed in conformity with <br />plans and specifications as approved by City of Santa Ana and City of Garden Grove. <br />b. To -bear the City of Santa Ana's share of the expense of pre- <br />paration of plans and specification.s and construction engineering costs, such <br />share to 'be three -fourths (3A) of the total preliminary and construction engineer- <br />ing costs. <br />
