AGREEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION, OPERATION AND 14ATNTENANCE OF FACILITIES FOR AUTOMATIC INTER -CONNECTION BETWEEN THE COSTA _MESA COUNTY WATER DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF SANTA ANA THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into by and between the City of Santa Ana, a chartered California Municipal Corporation, hereinafter referred to as SANTA ANA and the COSTA MESA COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, hereinafter referred to as DISTRICT. W I T N E S S E T H WHEREAS, there is presently a need to have an automatic- ally controlled and metered inter -tie to provide an independent emergency water supply to district at the location depicted in Attachment "A"; and WHEREAS, such automatically and meter -controlled water supply inter -connection does not presently exist, NOW, THEREFORE IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: (1) STATEMENT OF WORK A. It is agreed that the DISTRICT shall bear the total cost of installation, operation, supervision and maintenance of the twelve inch (12") automatic inter -connection, including, but not limited to controls, meters and all pertinent auxiliary equipment, piping and valves required for the proper functioning of said inter- connection, system as depicted in Attachment "A". B. The type of manufacturer of the meter and automatic valve controls shall be approved by the Director of Public Works City of Santa Ana, prior to the .installation of said inter -connection. General specifications for said equipment are provided in Attachment "B". C. Upon execution of this agreement DISTRICT shall submit a cashier's check in the amount of eight thousand dollars ($8,000.00) to Santa Ana in payment of one half the cost of the existing twelve inch (12") Santa Ana water stain located on Sunflower Avenue from Bear Street to Bristol Street, Santa A-na.
