My name is Randall Jones and I live at Metro East Senior Park, Santa Ana, CA, 92705. 1 wish to comment in favor of replacing ConAm Corporate Management with a caring, compassionate and competent management company. First, I wish to thank the City of Santa Ana for its recent support of our concerns and for holding ConAm Management accountable for its apparent failure to comply with its legal agreements regarding Metro East Senior Park. Your efforts are making a welcome, positive difference. However, there is still much that needs to be done. I believe ConAm is incompetent, dismissive and does not do what they promise unless forced to do so. During my leasing process, I was shown one apartment and told it was available. I agreed to lease it and the unit number was written on a lease form. However, when I came in later to sign the 76 page lease, I was shown another apartment and told there "aren't any others". In other words, take it or leave it! I had little option since I had given notice at my previous residence and I was in the process of moving. I signed it, although I didn't have time to read it and I had not been shown the lease prior to signing. I was also told that there was no on -site parking available. I had to park over a half mile away at another parking lot and pay an additional $150 per month for it. I later learned that the lease clearly states on page 60 under STANDARD PARKING POLICIES, THE FOLLOWING, 10. An assigned parking space is provided at no charge with the Leased Premises. Residents are not authorized to switch oi- trade parking spaces. Further, in an effort to offer practical suggestions regarding unsupervised dog urination inside and outside of the apartments, I was told that housekeeping does a diligent job and can't be everywhere at once. Finally, I feel ConAm management has failed to live up to its own stated philosophy. We wart to make it right. • If you need maintenance service, we'll respond quickly. It's our job to take care of problems. 40 If you have a suggestion, we'll listen. We value ideas and suggestions offered by c ur residents. Frankly, if this weren't so pathetic, it would be laughable. It appears to me that ConAm makes a great deal of money off the senior residents at Metro East, many of whom have disabilities, but does not provide the services, let alone the compassion, it promised. I urge the City of Santa Ana to aggressively pursue its ability to replace ConAm management with a company that will.
