Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/public-works <br />Item # 14 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />October 15, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Purchase Order Contracts for Fire Hydrants and Hydrant Parts <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Aggregate Purchase Order Contracts to Core & Main LP and Ferguson Enterprises, <br />LLC dba Ferguson WW for Fire Hydrants and Hydrant Parts (Specification No. 24-063) <br />(Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award aggregate purchase order contracts to the vendors listed below for the purchase <br />of fire hydrants and fire hydrant parts on an as-needed basis, in an annual aggregate <br />amount not to exceed $250,000, for an initial one-year term expiring October 14, 2025, <br />with provisions for four, one-year renewal options. <br />Vendor <br />Core & Main LP <br />Location <br />Santa Ana, CA <br />Ferguson Enterprises, LLC Santa Ana, CA <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency (PWA)’s Water Resources Division oversees and maintains <br />daily operations of the water system and sanitary sewer system. The City’s water <br />system is composed of approximately 478 miles of water mains, supplying the City’s <br />drinking water, along with a sanitary sewer system of approximately 390 miles of sewer <br />mains, serving 333,000 water valves, 4,855 fire hydrants, as well as over 8,200 sewer <br />manholes and clean-outs. <br />This contract provides the equipment and parts for the fire hydrant replacement <br />program. This program ensures satisfactory operations of fire hydrants while meeting <br />regulatory compliance requirements. This is achieved through annual inspections and <br />testing of hydrants. The City’s goal is to inspect and service all hydrants within a one- <br />year period. <br />Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 24-063 was advertised on April 30, 2024 on the City’s online <br />bid management and publication system.
