Co. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, that at <br /> such time as the plans and specifications for improvements of Tracts <br /> 1705 and 1534 are submitted that they be approved without the install-!i <br /> ation of sidewalks and that this approval be made in light of the <br /> Ordinance stating that it is at the option of the City Council to <br /> request or not to request sidewalks in light of the surrounding <br /> territory, and further in the light of our policy that if the proposedi <br /> subdivision streets, or extensions of streets, upon which there are <br /> sidewalks, or exieting at the time, that sidewalks will not .be re- <br /> <br /> qulred, otherwise they will be required. <br /> # <br /> <br /> A petition was read signed by twenty-eight merchants in the 2000 block <br /> South Main Street requesting the .removal of the trees along the side- <br /> walks in the block. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl <br /> and carried, the petition was referred to the Forestry Board for <br /> <br /> recommendation at their earliest convenience. <br /> . <br /> A petition was read signed by six property owners on ~msh Btreet <br /> questing that one-hour parking be extended on Bush Street from 10th <br /> to 12th Street and on motion of T~ustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and <br /> <br /> carried, the request was referred to the curb usage committee. <br /> It <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request <br /> of Lithographic Arts, Inc., ll8 North Sycamore Street, that a loading <br /> .zone be established in front of their place of business was referred <br /> to the committee on curb usage for report. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome an~ carried, communication <br /> from R.O.Todd, 2315 Fairmont Avenue, stating that the trash men refuse~ <br /> to pick up a banana palm tree which had been cut up in ~wo foot length~, <br /> <br /> was received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from E.M.Prince requesting approval to install <br /> %~wo bicycle racks and bolt them in the parkway in front of 919 and 9291 <br /> West St. Andrews Place, and on motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by <br /> Dahl and carried, the request was granted subject to the approval of <br /> the Police Department. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> resignation of Alex B~ownridge, as a member of the Library Board, was <br /> accepted With regret and the Clerk instructed to write a letter of <br /> ~appreclation for his services. <br /> It was moved by Trustee Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, that in <br /> the matter of the application of the Pacific Electric Railway Company <br /> for authority to sell and lease certain passenger operative cex~ <br /> <br />tificates and certain passenger facilities, that the City Attorney be <br /> directed to address a communication to the Public Utilities Corporatio~ <br /> of the State of California, a copy to be forwarded to C.W.Oornell, <br /> Attorney, Pacific Electric Railway Company, advising that it is tl~e <br /> intention of the City of Santa Aha to file an appearance and plea in <br /> this matter and reques~i~ additional time in which to do so, and <br /> requesting that the City be advised of all hearings to be held under <br /> <br /> the application. <br /> # <br /> <br /> <br />
