Co. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Report of Attorney <br />on no parking between <br />2 A.M. & 5 A.M. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Dave MacDougall, 1120 South Lowell Street <br /> <br />stating his views reference the City license tax and the 100% penalty, <br /> and on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br /> the communication was received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> matter of the 100% penalty added to delinquent licenses was submitted!i <br /> to the City Manager and the Clerk for study and possible revision <br /> and report to the Council at a future date. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from County Tax Collector advising that the <br /> County intends to sell at public auction tax-delinquent property <br /> described as Lot 4, Block "P" in Tract No. 668, being property <br /> located on Hickory Street between Delhi Road and Anahurst Place. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> Clerk was instructed to notify the Tax Collector that the City con- <br /> <br /> sents to the sale of such property. <br /> # <br /> <br /> A petition was read signed by fifty-six residents and property owners <br /> requesting that a crossing guard be stationed at Bristol and Bishop <br /> Streets for the safety of the school children, and on motion of <br /> Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, tP~e request was <br /> referred to the City Manager, Director of Public Works and the Chief <br /> <br /> of Police for recommendation and report at the next meeting. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br /> Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Joint 0utfall Sewer held at <br /> <br /> Anaheim, May 7, 1953, were received and filed. <br /> # <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> applications of Donald B. Richardson, Hazel Jane Stalnaker and Alvin <br /> Oxford to drive taxicabs, were received and permits granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage~ <br /> application made by Stuart O. Stevens, 310 E. 4th Street, was <br /> <br /> received and filed. <br /> # <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> demands as audited by the Finance Committee were approved and the <br /> <br /> Clerk authorized to issue warrants for same. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, Notice <br /> of Hearing on the application of~the Pacific EleCtric R~ilwayCo., a <br /> corporation, and J.L.Haugh, for authority to sell and lease certain <br /> passenger operative certificates and certain passenger facilities, <br /> was received and filed. <br /> <br /> A written report was read from the City Attorney regarding the recenti~ <br /> amendment requiring posting of blocks to prohibit parking during <br /> certain hours of the day and advising that Assembly Bill 3199 woul~ <br /> solve the problem and is now in the Governorls hands for signature. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br /> report was received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> <br />
