Councilmember Bacerra expressed concern regarding loss of events because of <br /> ambiguities, and asked for clarification regarding the ambiguity of associated costs, <br /> costs of policing, flooring costs, and information on required forms to complete, and <br /> associated political affiliations. <br /> Director Scott spoke regarding the concept of the restrooms and spoke regarding <br /> restroom costs, flooring costs, and information on forms. <br /> Acting Police Chief Robert Rodriguez spoke regarding preliminary estimated costs <br /> and the associated formula related to the Police Department. <br /> City Manager Alvaro Nunez spoke regarding analyzing costs, associated risks, and <br /> the economic development component. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Phan expressed excitement regarding the event and the possibility <br /> of future events at the stadium, and spoke regarding investments and risks, and in <br /> support of the item. <br /> Councilmember Penaloza spoke regarding incorporating Santa Ana Unified School <br /> District students and economic drives, expressed excitement for the event, and <br /> spoke in support of the item. <br /> Councilmember Bacerra spoke regarding the success of proof of concept. <br /> Councilmember Vazquez expressed concern regarding the associated costs, and <br /> requested an RFP and feasibility of the organizer. <br /> Mayor Pro Tern Phan spoke regarding POOF's special event application, and <br /> partnership and financial benefit to the City. <br /> Councilmember Lopez expressed excitement for the event, expressed concern <br /> regarding flexibility of permits and waivers related to certain events, and requested <br /> adding additional language that the City would recuperate all indirect costs and <br /> notifying Washington Square of events. <br /> City Manager Nunez spoke regarding evaluation of costs related to events, and <br /> stated staff notified surrounding city neighborhoods. <br /> Mayor Amezcua spoke in support of the item, asked for clarification regarding the <br /> itinerary of the event, spoke regarding the possibility of partnerships and future <br /> events, stated neighborhoods are always notified of events at the stadium, and <br /> expressed excitement for the event, generating revenue, and putting the City of <br /> Santa Ana on the map. <br /> Director Scott spoke regarding the itinerary of the event. <br /> CITY COUNCIL. 24 SEPTEMBER 17, 2024 <br /> SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 <br />
