NAME AND ROLE I QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE <br />Chad Beckstrom, AICP <br />Project Director <br />Marlie Long <br />Project Manager <br />Chad is a collaborative leader with over 25 years of consulting experience in the <br />environmental planning industry covering environmental impact analysis documentation, <br />environmental plans and programs, constraints/opportunities studies, project <br />management, strategic planning, and team leadership. He is committed to exceptional <br />client service, with a steadfast dedication to technical excellence. Chad is well known for the <br />ability to address complex issues, deliver strategic solutions, and help our clients to <br />communicate scientific results in an understandable way to their stakeholders and <br />decision -makers. He works to provide his clients with the best professional advice to solve <br />problems related to compliance with CEQA and other environmental regulatory <br />requirements. He has experience on a wide range of project types, including residential, <br />commercial, industrial, and mixed -use development and redevelopment projects. Chad <br />also teaches courses on CEQA environmental review processes through university <br />extension programs, professional seminars, and client trainings. <br />Marie Long has over 9 years of experience in preparing and managing a wide range of <br />CEQA documents to ensure environmental compliance throughout California. She has led <br />and worked on interdisciplinary consultant teams for a variety of projects, including master <br />plan communities, large flood control infrastructure, urban development, and long-range <br />plans, such as general, master, and specific plans and housing elements. Marlie specializes in <br />the managerrient and preparation of programmatic analyses as a tool to allow streamlining <br />of future projects. She is also responsible for client relations, assigning and adjusting staff <br />resources within internal and external teams, financial tasks, internal review, and quality <br />control, as well as authoring and production of documents. <br />Ascent is known for our pristine reputation for working on some of the highest -profile projects in the <br />state. The following project examples summarize our relevant experience and <br />demonstrate our team's experience. <br />The Village Santa Ana Supplemental EIR Peer Review <br />City of Santa Ana <br />Ascent is currently working closely with the City and its legal counsel, Best Best & Krieger, in the peer review <br />of the Supplemental EIR for The Village Santa Ana Project. The project involves a Specific Plan for the <br />redevelopment of an approximately 17.2-acre site in the South Bristol Street Focus Area for the <br />development of approximately 1,583 residential units, 80,000 square feet of retail space, 300,000 square <br />feet of office space, and over 3.6 acres of open space. Because the project is consistent with the City's <br />General Plan Update (GPU) and was largely analyzed in the GPU Program FIR, Segerstrom's consultant, <br />Michael Baker International, is preparing a Supplemental FIR that tiers from the GPU Program EIR pursuant <br />to CEQA Guidelines Sections 15168 and 15152. Ascent is conducting peer reviews of the Draft Supplemental <br />EIR sections and has reviewed Batch 1 and 2 documentation to date, including the following <br />chapters/sections: Introduction, Project Description, Cultural Resources, Geology and Soils, Hazardous <br />Materials, Hydrology and Water Quality, Land Use and Planning, and Population and Housinci.
