Byram to construct a small residence on the rear <br /> <br /> of the lot at 815 North Van Ness Street. <br /> . <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br />granted to Effie Neiderhiser to permit use of the building as it now <br />exists at 1077 West First Street for the sale of antiques and modern <br />gifts, subject to the conditions as imposed by the Planning <br /> <br />Commission. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, Map of <br />Tract No. 1457, submitted by Prudential Homes-Santa Ana, for the <br />dedication of Raymar Street, Richland Avenue and Bristol Street, for <br />public highway purposes, and bond in the sum of $28,000.00 were <br />approved and officials authorized to sign Map and Agreement. On <br />motion of 0ouncilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the con- <br />sents executed by Virgil C. and Celia Collier, Clarence E. and Blanche <br />M. Fowler, Mrs. Lilllan H. Cubbon and Kenneth J. Cawthon and H.J. <br /> <br />Stevens, were accepted and letters ordered filed. <br />. <br />Petitions were presented signed by ninety-seven residents and propert~ <br />owners and from Julius Kreeger protesting the granting of a variance <br />to John S. and Vivian E. Geiger. On motion of Councilman Larsen, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the petitions and protest of Julius <br />Ereeger were received and filed. On motion of Councilman Larsen, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation of the Planning <br />Commission was approved and variance denied to John S. and Vivian E. <br />Geiger to construct an office building for retailing nursery and <br /> <br />florist stock at the southeast corner of Fruit and Grand Avenue. <br /># <br />Charlie Wolf, 313 East Pine Street, appeared before the Council statin <br />that he had cut the weeds in the alley at the rear of his property and <br />the trash collectors refused to pick up the trash and weed cuttings. <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />matter of the trash collection was referred to the City Manager and <br />the cleaning of the weeds in the alley was referred to the City <br />Manager and Engineer. <br /> <br />Attorney Mark Soden presented petitions containing 111 names of <br />residents registering their objections to any extension of the Civic <br />Center to include the double block from Sixth to Eighth Street and <br />from Ross to Van Ness Avenue, The Chairman stated that the Council <br />had received numerous anonymous cards and the Council does not <br />recognize any card or communication which is not signed. Also, the <br />Council will recognize signed communications or discuss matters with <br />the citize~$. J.B.Dailey, 1035 West Sixth Street, stated his reason~ <br />for objecting ~o the proposed library site. The Clerk read a card <br />from Bertha Briney, 626 North Ross Street, protesting the proPOsed <br /> <br /> <br />
