<br />Change the compensation of the following classification: <br />FROM <br />UNIT TITLE STEPS MIN MAX <br />Homeless Services <br />Division Manager (MM)SAMA 17 $10,780 $15,999 <br />TO <br />UNIT TITLE STEPS MIN MAX <br />Homeless Services <br />Division Manager (MM)SAMA 17 $11,607 $17,231 <br />Section 3.Previously, the pay rates for the Code Enforcement Principal (AM) and <br />Permit Services Principal (AM) classifications effective July 14, 2023 were not listed <br />correctly on the SAMA salary schedule approved by City Council for CalPERS <br />compliance purposes. The compensation and benefits of employees in those positions <br />were not affected as the City’s payroll system accurately reflected the appropriate rates. <br />Section 4.CalPERS interprets California Code of Regulations section 570.5 to require <br />City Council approval of salary schedules, grouped by employee unit, in addition to City <br />Council approval of compensation changes, Memoranda of Understanding (“MOU”), and <br />any other official action needed to implement the compensation change. <br />Section 5.The updated salary schedule for the SAMA unit covering the term of the <br />current MOU and incorporating the compensation change for the Homeless Services <br />Division Manager (MM) classification effective November 19, 2024, along with the <br />aforementioned clerical changes, is attached to this resolution as Exhibit A and is hereby <br />approved by the Santa Ana City Council. <br />Section 6.That except as amended by this resolution, all other provisions of the City’s <br />classification and compensation plan shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Section 7.This resolution is effective November 19, 2024. <br />ADOPTED this 19th day of November 2024. <br />___________________________ <br />Valerie Amezcua <br />Mayor <br />Resolution 2024-XXX <br />Page 2 of 10
