No. 53-120 <br />Establish yellow zone <br />E. si~e Van Ness btn <br />4th and 5th ets. <br />(D.H.Johnson) <br /> <br />Map and Agreement. <br /> # <br /> <br />On recommendation Of the committee and on motion of Oouncilman McBride <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Concerning Parking Limitations and Cumb <br /> Markings in Accordance Therewith" <br /> <br />establishing a yellow zone on the east side of Van Ness Street between <br /> <br />Fourth and Fifth Streets, in accordance with the request of D. La, sen, Milford W. <br />Courtney R. Chandler. <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Dahl, <br /> <br />Russell A. Nelson, 2515 Oa~mon~ Street, appeared before the Council <br />stating that on May 18th, 1953 a variance was granted to Jack W. smith <br />to c6nstr~ct two apartment buildings with six units in each, with <br />garages and laundmy rooms in rear, at 619 North Baker Street, subject <br />to the condition 'that 30 feet be deeded to the City for street <br /> <br />purposes e~sterly from the center of the street, that sidewalks be <br /> <br />court'acted across the front of the property and that garage space is <br />ample. Mr. Nelson stated that the question has now arisen as. to the <br /> <br />measurement from the surveyed center line of the street or the physical <br />center of the street. It was moved by Councilman Jerome, seconded by <br />Lateen and carried, that this modification of the variance was to be a <br /> <br />In Re <br />Sale of Tax- <br />Deeded Lot <br /> <br />measurement from the physical center line of the existing street <br />~ · <br /> <br />Communication was read from County Tax Collector advising that the <br />County intends to sell at public auction tax delinquent property <br />described as Lot 4, Block "P" in Tract No. 668, being property located <br />on Hickory Street between Delhi Road and Anahu~st Place. On motion <br /> <br />In Re <br />Request <br />American National' <br />Red Cross <br /> (hang banner) <br /> <br />of COunCil'man McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Clerk was <br />instructed to notify the Tax Collector that the City consents to the <br /> <br />sale of such property. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from the American National Red Cross requesting <br />permis$i6n to hang a banner over Main Street, on the day of the monthly <br />visit of the Bloodmobile. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br />Lateen and carried, the request was denied and Clerk instructed to <br /> <br /> In Re <br />Communication and <br />!Resolution - California <br />Highway Commission <br />i!(Freewa~s) <br /> <br />answer the communication advising the Chairman of the reasons for the <br /> <br />denial. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication and Resolution were read from the California Highway <br />Commission reference its policy with relation to procedure in the <br />adoption of routings of freeways. On motion of Councilman MoBrlde, <br />seconded by Dahl and carried, the communications were received, filed <br />and Clerk instructed to furnish cooles to the City Manager and Engineer. <br /> <br /> <br />
