Lee, §o-owner of the One Day Shirt Service, 407~ <br /> <br />W. 17th Street for a ten minute parking zone, was referred to the stank <br />ing committee on curb usage for report. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Mayor <br />and Clerk were authorized to sign an agreement with the County Sanita- <br />tion District No. I of Orange County for th~ maintenance and repair of <br />the trunk sewer lines belonging to District No. 1. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />Manager was requested to report on those items on the agenda that he <br /> <br />is in a position to report on. <br />, <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the low bid of Worthington-Gamon Meter <br />Division in the amount of $21,070.00 for water meters was accepted and <br />all other bids rejected and certified checks ordered returned to the <br />unsuccessful bidders. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the low bid of United States Rubber <br />Company for the furnishing and delivering of copper conductors and <br />cables for the Fire Department, was accepted and the other bid rejec- <br />ted and certified check ordered returned. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the contract for the construction of a <br />sanitary sewer along Delhi Road between Bristol and Main Street was <br />awarded to the low bidder, W. C. Rados for ~he amount of $31,226.25 <br />and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Jerome and seconded by Dahl, that it is the <br />intent of the City to provide an amount equal to 25% of the approximate <br />cost, estimated at $276,000.00, of acquisition and improvement of the <br />Off-street Parking District No. i to serve the area adjacent to and <br />east and north of the intersection of Fourth and Main Streets; contri- <br />bution not to ex,ed $70,000.00. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, Milford W. Dahl, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler <br /> Noes, Councilman Thomas F. Larsen <br /> Absent, Councilman J. L. McBride. <br /> <br />COuncilman Larsen voted "No" for the reason that he believed the pro- <br />perry owners had not exhausted every possible effort to develop their <br />own lots or solved their own problems; that he was against ~he idea of <br />the City going into the parking lot business and against the assessment <br />district plan at ~his time. Motion carried. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilm~n, Dahl, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the reGuest of Rettew and Company for <br />a loading zone in front of 116 E. Sixth Street, was denied and the <br />applicant to be notified the reasons for the denial. <br /> <br /> <br />
