<br /> For the record, an oral request was made by J. Ro Sandstrom for the
<br /> abandonment of Hickory Street between Bishop and Myrtle Streets, east
<br /> of Oak and west of Halladay Street.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, Map of
<br /> Tract No. 1888, submitted by College Park, a limited partnership,
<br /> covering the dedication of Edinger, Pomona, Woodland, Garnsey and
<br /> Occidental Streets, and agreement were approved for official signa-
<br /> tures, subject to filing of bond in the sum of $57,500.00 and approval
<br /> by the Attorney. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome
<br /> and carried, the subdivider was ordered to remove all eucalyptus trees
<br /> on all the boundaries of the subdivision.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, Map of
<br /> Tract No. 182h 'and agreement submitted by Park Lane Estates and Park
<br /> Lane-Homes for the dedication of Memory Lane, Park Lane, Westwood
<br /> Street, Towner Lane, Freeman Lane, Lowell Lane and Olive Lane and bond
<br /> in the sum of $72,800.00, were approved and officials authorized to
<br /> sign map and agreement.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the
<br /> request of J. W. Smith for one-hour parking zones between Tenth and
<br />
<br />Washington Avenue on Main Street, was referred to the committee on
<br /> for report
<br /> curb usage/and the Clerk instructed to advise the applicant of the
<br />
<br /> Council's action.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the
<br />report of Diehl and Company on an examination of the accounts and
<br />records of the City for the period January 1 to April 30, 1953, was
<br />received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />request of the Santa Ana City Schools for a thirty-five foot driveway
<br />on Fourteenth Steet near French Street for the warehouse and mainte-
<br />nance yard, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by 'Dahl and carried, Clarence
<br />Amling Roses, Inc., were granted permission to drill a twelve inch
<br />well to produce water for irrigation purposes to be located approxi-
<br />mately 600 feet easterly of the center line of Sullivan Street and
<br />
<br />100 feet southerly of the northerly boundary of their property.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the
<br />application of Stanton House Movers to move an apartment house thirty-
<br />two feet in height from 609 N. Ross Street to 830 Eo Chestnut Street,
<br />was granted.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of the Engineer and on motion of Councilman Larsen,
<br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the Clerk was authorized to advertise
<br />for 10,O00 feet of 12 inch and 5,000 feet of 8 inch cast iron pipe,
<br />Class 150, Bell and Spigot, cement line, manufactured in accordance with
<br />Federal Specifications WW-P-421 Type I or II $ bids to be opened
<br />September 8th, 1953.
<br />
<br />A complaint was read from Henry Thibodeau, o~er of a four-unit apart-
<br />ment house at 625-27~ E. Walnut Street, reference damages to sidewalks
<br />at said property committed by the Paul Vukich Construction Company,
<br />contractors, and requesting the City Engineer to inform him that an
