Attorney Robert L. <br />Corfman requested permission to present the following owners of prop- <br />erty in the area who stated the~we~e in favor of the rezonlng: <br /> <br />Lansing B. Hill, 1120 West 17th St., R. Raber, 1111 West 17th St., <br /> <br />Mr. Gentile, 1102-08 W. 17th St., Mrs. S.E.Oeraski, 1102 W. 17th St., <br />R.S.Adkinson, 1238 W. 17th St., B.J.Ohandler, 1133 West 17th St., <br /> <br />Mrs. Alice Sc/amid, 1119-21 West 17th St., T.R.Glick, 1149 W. 17th St., <br />F.C.Smith, 1702 North Olive St., Mrs. E.J.Williams, 1711 North Baker <br />St., I.H.Pennington, 1701-03 North Olive St., and John L. Senteey, <br /> <br />1000 Block West 17th Street. On motion of Councilman Jerome, eeconde~ <br />by Larsen and carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered publishe~ <br /> <br />setting date as October 5th, 1953. <br /> # , <br /> <br />The Clerk read communication from the Planning Commission recommending <br />that a variance be granted C.J.Shives to permit use of one room in <br />existing residence as a real estate office at 1501 South Broadway, <br />subject to certain conditions, and petition signed by thirty-five <br />property owners and residents protesting the variance. Mrs. Charles <br /> <br />E. Davis, 1522 South Birch, Mrs. Walter Welch, and Ogden Markel, owner <br />of property at 1445 South Sycamore, stated their reasons for opposing <br />the variance. Attorney Robert Webb presented a petition signed by <br />~welve persons favoring the variance. On motion of Councilman. Jerome~ <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the variance was referred to the 0ounc~l <br />as a whole for further study until the next meeting. On motion of <br />Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the petitions were <br /> <br />received and filed. <br />. <br />The Clerk read comm,~uication from the Planning 0ommission recommendingI <br />that a variance be granted Selmer K. and Margie Fay B~idston to permit <br />establishment of a real estate office in residence at 202 West Edinger <br />Street subject to certain conditions. On motion of Councilman Jerome~ <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the variance was referred to the Council <br /> <br />as a whole for further study until the next meeting. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial <br />of a variance submitted by William D. Greschner requesting permission <br />to construct an office building at the northeast corner of North <br />~oadway and West 18th Street to be leased 'by the State for the office~ <br />of the .State Board of Equalization. On motion of Councilman Jerome, <br />seconded by McBride and carried, the recommendation was approved and <br />variance denied. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Attorney N.H.Smedegaard on behalf of his <br />client Rudy Gallegos stating that Mr. ~allegos has a purchase agreemen~ <br />for the four lots which face south on Delhi Road between Cypress Avenue <br />and the alley to the west and requesting the City to execute a deed <br />releasing the easement previously rese~ed on the south end of three <br />of the four lots. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen <br />and carried, the request was granted and Mr. Smedegaard authorized to <br />prepare a deed to be submitted to the City Attorney for his approval a~d <br /> <br /> presentation ~o the Council at meeting October 5th. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
