No. 53~143 <br /> Approving l~p, trod <br /> fixing hearing date <br /> Abandon portion of <br />i Nickory St. <br /> <br /> Acceptance <br />Truck with crane <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bid Acceptance <br />Four Pick-up <br />T~ucks <br /> <br />Bid Acceptance <br />Construction of <br />B~istol Street <br />Reserc~olr <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bid Acceptance <br />Pavement breaking <br />and tamping machine <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Industrial Accident Commission request~ <br />lng use of the Council Chamber on Thursday of each week for the pttrpos, <br />of holding Industrial Accident Commission hearings, and on motion of <br />Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the request was <br />granted and the Commission to be notified of Council action. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, proper <br />officials were authorized to execute agreement with the Santa Ana JuniOr <br />Chamber of Commerce for the parking of motor vehicles at the parking <br />lot adjacent to the Municipal' Bowl duming the evening of October 2nd, <br />1953, The Manager requested',authorization to enter into an agreement <br />with the Santa Aha Junior ChamBer of Commerce from the date of the <br />agreement up to and including June 30, 195~ covering the operation of <br />the p~rking lot adjacent to the Municipal Bowl, the Chamber to furnish <br /> <br />a minimum liability insurance of $25,000.00 and a maxi~ram of $100,000.00, <br /> and collect ~ees <br />provide adequate personnel to efficiently direct traffic, q/upon the lot <br /> <br />for each football game and other events scheduled in the Bowl; the <br />Chamber to be granted 60% of the total collections and the City to <br />retain $0%. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and <br />carried, the recommendations were approved and Manager authorized to <br />enter into the agreement. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 53-143 approving map, declaring <br /> intention to abandon a portion of Hickory Street <br /> south of Myrtle Street and north of Bishop Street, <br /> and fixing time and place for hearing all persons <br /> interested in or objecting to the proposed <br /> abandonment" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br /> Thomas F. Larsen, Milford W. Dahl, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler. <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Jerome, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the bid of Shaw Sales and Service <br />Company was accepted for the furnishing of one truck with crane, at the <br />price submitted in the bid, and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Lateen, <br />seconded by Jerome and ca. tied, the bid of Guaranty Chevrolet Motors, <br />w~s accepted for the furnishing of four pick-up t~ucks and all othe~ <br />bids rejected. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman McBride, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of California Gunite Company, <br />Inc., was accepted for the construction of the Bristol Street Reservoir, <br />and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Larsen, <br />seconded by Dahl and carried, the bid of Smith Booth Usher Company was <br />accepted for the furnishing of a pavement breaking and tamping machine, <br />and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br /> <br />
