<br />The Council having unanlmously waived the reading of the Resolution,
<br />on motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by McBride and carried, tYae
<br />following Resolution entitled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 53-148 authorizing the Mayor and
<br /> Clerk of the Council to execute that certain
<br /> agreement between the City and the State of
<br /> 0allfornia, Department of Public Works, Division
<br /> of Highways for channelizing traffic at the inter-
<br /> section of North Flower Street and Santa Ana
<br /> Boulevard"

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br />request of John L. Wehrly, D.D.S. that one or two meters be restricted
<br />to twenty-four minutes at 624 North Main Street, was referred to the
<br />
<br />committee on curb usage for report.

<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />request of Alice C. Sanchez and Aurora S. Romero, 422 East Third
<br />Street, for a time limit zone, was referTed to the committee on curb
<br />
<br />usage for report.

<br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the
<br />biennial report of the Orange County Joint 0utfall Sewer, was
<br />~eoeivedand filed.
<br />Communication was read from the City Attorney stating that the Public
<br />
<br />Works Office, llth Naval District, advise that the fuel line to
<br />
<br />E1 Toro which they propose to ~ is largely upon Railway right-of-way
<br />and the Railway Company has suggested condemnation proceedings as a
<br />method of obtaining an easement. On motion of Councilman Dahl,
<br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the Attorney was instructed to advise
<br />the Public Works Office, llth Naval District that the City is not in
<br />favor of condemnation proceedings, is open to negotiations and part-
<br />icularly adverse to fuel line being installed on Seventeenth Street.
<br />It was moved by Councilman Jerome, eeoonded by Dahl and carried, to
<br />amend the 1953-55 Budget by the creation of a new expenditure activit~
<br />account within the Parking Meter Fund and to transfer into thisnew
<br />activity account the sum of $1200.00, which shall be taken from the
<br />unappropriated reserve of the Parking Meter Fund, for the purpose of
<br />meeting%he Council's commitments on off-street parking.
