Chandler. <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Dahl, <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manage~ and on motion of Councilman McBride, <br /> <br />seconded by Lateen and carried, the bid of Weed Control Service, Inc.,. <br /> <br />in the sum of $3286.70, was accepted for the furnishing of one trailem- <br /> <br />mounted brush and tree chipper. <br /># <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Lateen, ii <br /> <br />seconded by Dahl and carried, the bid of Duncan Parking Meter <br /> <br />Corporation w~s accepted, as the lowest a~d best bid, for the furnish- <br /> <br />ing of 120 single unit automatic psm~lng meters. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Lateen and carried, <br /> <br />the ~ <br /> <br />Nmnager was authorized to proceed by advertising the sale of the <br /> <br />property at 915 West Walnut Street, with a set minimum price of <br />$6,000,00; bidding to be held January 18th, 1954. <br /> <br />At the request and recommendation of the Manager and on motion of <br />Councilman Lateen, seconded by Jorome and carried, the employment of <br /> <br />two patrolmen and one motor patrol officer was authorized, effe0tive <br />January 1, 1954; also the purchase of one automobile and one motor- <br /> <br />cycle, expenditures to be transferred from f2xe unappropriated reserve <br />fund. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Jerome, <br />seconded by McBride and carried, ~he request of Mrs. Thomas F. Long <br /> <br />that a signal be installed at the corner of Chestnut and Cypress <br /> <br />Avenues, was deniede <br /># <br />On recommendation of the Manage~ and on motion of Councilman Dab1, <br /> <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the request cf thirty residents'that <br /> <br />school zoning signs be installed in the proper blocks on South <br /> <br />Sycamore Street approaching Cubbon Street and Spurgeon School, was <br /> <br />g~anted and signs ordered installed. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of 0ouncilman Jerome <br />seconded by Lateen and carried, the request of Elmer Hvinden that a <br />pedestrian crossing be marked on East Seventeenth Street from the eas~ <br />sidewalk in the 1600 block North French Street, was granted and <br /> <br />pedestrian crossing ordered painte~. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the request of Dodd, Inc., that a <br /> be <br />parking mete~_/removed on the east side of North Broadway in the 500 <br /> <br />block between the two entrances to the parking lot at the corner of <br /> <br />Fifth and B~oadway, was denied and the apace to remain for on-street <br /> <br />parking. <br /> <br />The Manager orally reported that Robert A. Weber. Doalen, Los At. else <br />Examiner, had advised that the Sant~ Ama Commercial Company is <br />satisfactorily picking up waste paper ~'ubbish placed at the curb. <br /> <br />On motion of Coumcilm~m l~hJ., seoonded by Lt~sen and carried, the <br /> <br />report Yas aooepted. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
