CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> SPECIFICATIONS <br /> PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br /> TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br /> AVENUE <br /> There shall be no pipe joints from the sewer lateral cleanout connection to 20 feet into <br /> street right away.No pipe joints shall be allowed in the parkway. <br /> Pipe joints shall not be deflected at any joint, either vertically or horizontally, beyond the <br /> limits specified by the manufacturer. <br /> Construction of sewer lateral and cleanout shall be done in accordance with City of Santa <br /> Ana Standard Plan No. 1204, the contract plans and these Special Provisions. <br /> A "Y" Branch fitting shall be installed on the sewer main at each lateral connection per <br /> City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. 1204. In the case where the lateral is to be connected <br /> to a sewer main that has been lined, a"Y" Saddle fitting shall be installed. The connection <br /> shall conform to the size and shape of the inside diameter of the new connection. Service <br /> connection openings shall be free from rough edges or protrusions. CORING OF NEW <br /> SEWER MAIN TO ACCOMMODATE LATERAL CONNECTION SHALL NOT <br /> BE ALLOWED. <br /> At all locations where more than one (1) lateral serves a single parcel, Contractor shall <br /> expose existing lateral connection to the existing sewer main and verify that the lateral is <br /> active by CCTV inspection. In addition, the Contractor shall insert a push camera with <br /> sounder/locator up the lateral from the main(insertion pit) to mark and locate the point of <br /> connection at the property line. <br /> If CCTV investigation is inconclusive, lateral shall be treated as active and shall be <br /> constructed per plan. If lateral is determined to be dead, lateral shall be plugged and <br /> abandoned in place. <br /> The Contractor shall connect to the new sewer main and to the existing sewer lateral pipe <br /> at the property line. The existing sewer lateral shall be depicted on the construction plans <br /> based on the best information available. It is the Contractor's responsibility to "locate <br /> all points of connection for each new sewer lateral at both ends: the wye at the public <br /> sewer main and the private connection point at property line where lateral cleanout <br /> will be constructed",prior to installing new wye at the main.The Contractor shall insert <br /> a push camera with sounder/locator up the lateral from the main(insertion pit)to mark and <br /> locate the point of connection at the property line. All locations points shall be marked in <br /> the field prior to installation and construction of new sewer lateral. The new lateral shall <br /> be constructed perpendicular to the sewer main. <br /> The Contractor shall perform pipeline testing as directed by the Engineer in accordance <br /> with the applicable provisions of Subsection 306-1.4 of the Standard Specifications. <br /> The Contractor shall submit all material information for sewer lateral cleanout connections <br /> and appurtenances prior to commencing work. The Engineer shall review and upon <br /> approval notify the Contractor by a memorandum. Non-approved materials shall not be <br /> used. <br /> 104 <br />
