RESOLUTION 68-68 APPROVING MAP, DECLARING INTENTION
<br />TO VACATE A PORTION OF SIXTH STREET BETWEEN FLOWER
<br />AND GARNSEY STREETS, RESERVING EASEMENTS THEREIN FOR
<br />PUBLIC UTILITIES, AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, a request for the vacation of that portion of Sixth
<br />Street lying between Flower and Garnsey Streets has been received
<br />from the Civic Center Commission, and the Department of Public Works
<br />and the Planning Commission have recommended that a public hearing
<br />be set on the question of said street vacation;
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
<br />approves the map attached hereto and orders the same filed with the
<br />original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council,
<br />and reference is hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries
<br />of said right of way proposed to be vacated.
<br />
<br /> The City Council declares its intention to proceed under the
<br />provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300 through
<br />8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate that
<br />portion of Sixth Street lying between Flower and Garnsey Streets and
<br />RESERVING THEREIN easements for utility structures for the Pacific
<br />Telephone Company, Southern Counties Gas Company, and the City of
<br />Santa Ana. Said right of way proposed to be vacated lies in the City
<br />of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, and is described
<br />as follows:

<br />That portion of Sixth Street bounded westerly by a line parallel and
<br />53.00 feet easterly, measured at right angles, with the center
<br />line of Flower Street as shown on a map recorded in Book 85, Page 2,
<br />Records of Survey, in the office of the County Recorder of Orange
<br />County, California, and bounded easterly by the westerly line of
<br />Garnsey Street as shown on said Records of Survey;
<br />
<br />Reserving an easement and right of way, 5.00 feet in width, the
<br />center line of which is 26.50 feet southerly, from the center line
<br />of said street to construct, place, operate, inspect, maintain,
<br />repair, replace, and remove such aerial and underground telephone,
<br />telegraph and communication structures as the Pacific Telephone
<br />Company may, from time to time, require, consisting of poles,
<br />anchors, wires, cables, conduits, manholes, markers, and necessary
<br />fixtures and appurtenances;

<br />Also reserving an easement and right of way, 5.00 feet in width,
<br />the center line of which is 24.00 feet southerly, from the center
<br />line of said street to construct, place, operate, inspect,
<br />maintain, repair, replace, remove, and enlarge lines of pipe and
<br />other structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas
<br />lines as the Southern Counties Gas Company may, from time to time,
<br />require;

<br />Also reserving an easement and right of way, 10.00 feet in width,
<br />the center line of which is 20.00 feet northerly, from the center
<br />line of said street for a potable water main for the City of
<br />Santa Ana.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That June 3, 1968, at the hour of
<br />7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets,
<br />Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for
<br />hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
<br />street vacation.
