RESOLUTION 68-157 FIXING CHARGES FOR <br />WATER SERVICE INSTALLATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there are certain expenses involved in installing <br />different sized water services by a water utility; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Utility wishes to recover said expenses from <br />the applicant instead of assessing the general consumer for these new <br />installations; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following charges are <br />to be collected, before installation, for each water service installed <br />after October 16, 1968, as provided for in Section 7402 of Ordinance <br />No. NS-936. <br /> <br />A. WATER SERVICE <br /> <br />SIZE OF SERVICE <br /> <br />IN TRACTS OF <br />5 or MORE LOTS <br /> <br />COST OF SERVICE <br />INSTALLATION IN <br />TRACTS OF FOUR <br />OR LESS LOTS OR <br />SINGLE INSTALLA- <br />TIONS <br /> <br />3/4" $ 40.00 $ 75.00 <br /> <br />1" $ 60.00 $100.00 <br /> <br />1 1/2" $235.00 $275.00 <br /> <br />2" $285.00 $325.00 <br /> <br /> The charge for moving a service meter 15 feet or less shall be <br />one-half of the installation charge and for moving a service meter over <br />15 feet the charge shall be the same as for a new installation. <br /> <br /> The charge to increase the size of a service installation shall <br />be the same as for a new installation of the larger size service. <br /> <br />B. SERVICE INSTALLATION OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS <br /> <br /> Ail installation charges shall be the same for areas supplied <br />water outside the City limits as for areas inside the City limits. <br /> <br />C. DEPOSIT <br /> <br /> The installation of larger services, fire services, backflow <br />protection devices, or any other service not covered in this Resolution, <br />or specifically provided for in any other existing Ordinances or <br />Resolutions of said City of Santa Aha shall be made on the basis of <br />cost, including overhead. In any such installations, the applicant <br />shall post a deposit in an amount estimated by the Director of Public <br />Works to be sufficient to cover the total charges. In the event the <br />cost is less than the deposit, the balance will be refunded to the <br />applicant, and if more, shall be paid by the applicant upon receipt <br />of additional billing. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Resolution shall be effectual <br />as of the effective date of Ordinance No. NS-936. <br /> <br /> PASSED A/qD ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of October, 1968. <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL ~-~ " ,f~YOR ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
