WHEREAS, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 70-30 FIXING CHARGES FOR <br />WATER SERVICE INSTALLATION A-ND <br />~SCINDING RESOLUTION 68-157 <br /> <br />there are certain expenses involved in installing <br /> <br />different sized water services by a water utility~ and <br /> <br /> .WHEREAS, the Water Utility wishes to recover said expenses <br />from the applicant instead of assessing the general consumer for <br />these new installations; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following charges <br />are to be collected, before installation, for each water service <br />installed after October 16, 1968, as provided for in Section 7402 <br />of Ordinance No. NS-936. <br /> <br />A. WATER SERVICE <br /> <br />SIZE OF SERVICE <br /> <br />IN TRACTS OF <br />5 OR MORE LOTS <br /> <br />COST OF SERVICE <br />INSTALLATION IN <br />TRACTS OF FOUR OR <br />LESS LOTS OR SINGLE <br />INSTALLATIONS <br /> <br />3/4" $ 40.00 $ 75.00 <br /> <br />1" $ 60.00 $100.00 <br /> <br />1/2" $235.00 $275.00 <br /> <br />2" $285 00 $325.00 <br /> <br /> The charge for moving a service meter 15 feet or less shall <br />be one-half of the installation charge and for moving a service <br />meter over 15 feet the charge shall be the same as for a new <br />installation. <br /> <br /> The charge to increase the size of a service installation <br />shall be the same as for a new installation of the larger size <br />service. <br /> <br />B. SERVICE INSTALLATION OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS <br /> <br /> Ail installation charges shall be the same for areas <br />supplied water outside the city limits as for areas inside the <br />City limits. <br /> <br />C. DEPOSIT <br /> <br /> The installation of larger services, fire services, <br />backflow protection devices, or any other service not covered in <br />this Resolution, or specifically provided for in any other existing <br />Ordinances or Resolution of said City of Santa Ana shall be made <br />on the basis of cost, including overhead. In any such installations, <br />the applicant shall post a deposit in an amount estimated by the <br />Director of Public Works to be sufficient to cover the total charges. <br />In the event the cost is less than the deposit, the balance will be <br />refunded to the applicant, and if more, shall be paid by the appli- <br />cant upon receipt of additional billing. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the above charges shall be <br />waived if the applicant is allowed the option of installing the <br />water mains, hydrants and/or water services at his own expense. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by reason of the foregoing, it is necessary that <br />Resolution 68-157 is hereby rescinded. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the city of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of April, 1970. <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL MAYOR <br /> <br /> <br />
