Council Chamber Santa Aha City Hall. January 4, 195~. 7.30 P.M. City Council met in regular eessi0n. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Absent: Councilmen Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Thomas F. Lam. sen, Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. None Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of December 21, 1953 reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried. In Re Amend. Application Walter E. Tipton etal Reclassify E. 17th St. between Main and the Freeway This being the date set for hearing on the amendment application of Walter E. Tipton etal for the reclassification of the north and south sides of East l?th Street from the existing C-1 and C-2 Districts at Main Street, to and including the four corners of Santiago Avenue for a depth of approximately 150' from the present classifications of R-l, R-2 and C, to the C-1 District. David Hill, 2020 Poinsettia Street, and Curtis S~ Burrow, owner of three lo~s east of the Freeway, gave their reasons for opposing the reclassification and requested that the matter'be taken under advisement. John Daniels, purchaser of the property at 702 E. 17th Street, W.E.Woody, 610 E. l?th Street and Lew Kelly, 2411 Fairmont Avenue favored the property being reclassified to the C-1 District. It was moved by Councilman McBride that the Attorney be instructed to prepare an Ordinance to reclassify the property in accordance with the recommendation of the Planning Commission. Motion was lost. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the Attorney was instructed to pre- pare an Ordinance reclassifying the north and south sides of E. 17th Street from R-l, R-2 and C District to the C-1 District, from Main In Re Bids Cast Iron Pipe Street to the Freeway. . On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for the furnishing of 5000 fee~ of 8 inch Cast Iron Pipe, as follows: Bid of American C~st Iron Pipe 0o.: Bond in the sum of $1500.00. Approximately 5000 ft. 8" Bell and Spigot Mono-Cast Centrifugal "Enameline" pipe, Class 150, in 16' lengths, for 150 pounds working pressure, per foot $2.$32 $12,160.00. Price is f.o.b, foundries Birmingham, Alabama with full freight allowed to Santa Ana. Price includes California State Use Tax of 3% on foundry value and te~ms are net thirty days.
