Lam. sen, <br />Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. <br />None <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the <br />Minutes of December 21, 1953 reading of the Minutes was dispensed <br />with and approved on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl <br />and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Amend. Application <br />Walter E. Tipton etal <br />Reclassify E. 17th St. <br />between Main and the <br />Freeway <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on the amendment application of <br /> <br />Walter E. Tipton etal for the reclassification of the north and south <br /> sides of East l?th Street from the existing C-1 and C-2 Districts at <br /> Main Street, to and including the four corners of Santiago Avenue for <br /> <br />a depth of approximately 150' from the present classifications of R-l, <br /> <br />R-2 and C, to the C-1 District. David Hill, 2020 Poinsettia Street, <br />and Curtis S~ Burrow, owner of three lo~s east of the Freeway, gave <br /> <br />their reasons for opposing the reclassification and requested that the <br />matter'be taken under advisement. John Daniels, purchaser of the <br />property at 702 E. 17th Street, W.E.Woody, 610 E. l?th Street and <br /> <br />Lew Kelly, 2411 Fairmont Avenue favored the property being reclassified <br /> <br />to the C-1 District. It was moved by Councilman McBride that the <br /> <br />Attorney be instructed to prepare an Ordinance to reclassify the <br /> <br />property in accordance with the recommendation of the Planning <br /> <br />Commission. Motion was lost. On motion of Councilman Jerome, <br /> <br />seconded by Lateen and carried, the Attorney was instructed to pre- <br /> <br />pare an Ordinance reclassifying the north and south sides of E. 17th <br /> <br />Street from R-l, R-2 and C District to the C-1 District, from Main <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bids <br />Cast Iron <br />Pipe <br /> <br />Street to the Freeway. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to open bids for the furnishing of 5000 fee~ of <br />8 inch Cast Iron Pipe, as follows: <br /> <br />Bid of American C~st Iron Pipe 0o.: <br />Bond in the sum of $1500.00. <br />Approximately 5000 ft. 8" Bell and Spigot Mono-Cast <br />Centrifugal "Enameline" pipe, Class 150, in 16' <br />lengths, for 150 pounds working pressure, per foot <br />$2.$32 $12,160.00. Price is f.o.b, foundries <br />Birmingham, Alabama with full freight allowed to <br />Santa Ana. Price includes California State Use <br />Tax of 3% on foundry value and te~ms are net <br />thirty days. Delivery within 15 days, <br /> <br />Bid of James B.
