Browning <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Dr. Lester L. <br />etal <br /> <br />Blount <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />DQn Fletcher <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to open the one sealed bid for sale of property <br />at 915 West Walnut Street, as follows: <br /> <br />Bid of Harry D. Dent, ~r., $7000.00. <br />Cashier's check in,the sum of $800.00. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked if there were any other bidders and there being none, <br />on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by ~Larsen and carried, the bid <br />was accepted. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 55-5 accepting offer to purchase <br /> City owned real property and authorizing the <br /> Mayor to execute the escrow instructions and the <br /> deed" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, J .L.McBride, <br /> Thomas F. Larsen, Milford W. Dahl, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler. <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />that a variance be g~anted Spencer R. Browning to permit the use of <br />property at ~17 South Sycamore Street for the construction of a 20' x <br />30~ building to be used for television repair work, provided that the <br />now existing building shall not be used for this purpose, and from <br />the Assistant Director of Public Works stating that the southerly <br />five feet of sidewalk in front of or alongside the property should be <br />replaced to bring it up to present City standards. On motion of <br />Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation <br />of the Planning Commission was approved and variance granted subject <br />to condition as imposed by the Planning Commission and replacement of <br />sidewalk. <br /> <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />that a variance be granted Dr. Lester L. Blount and Dr. David S. <br />Asche~ to permit an addition to existing building, to the property <br />line, on property described as Lot 1, Block D, Price and Ste~la Fruit <br />Addition, situated at the northeast corner of Seventh and Bush Streets, <br />subject to certain conditions, and from the Assistant Director of <br />Public Works stating that the replacement of curb and sidewalk on <br /> <br />Bush Street, including sidewalk landing, but not curb return at <br />Seventh and Bush Streets is needed to bring it up to present City <br />standards. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and <br />carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved <br />and variance granted subject to conditions as imposed by the Planning <br />Commission and Assistant Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />denial of variance application of Don Fletcher ~o permit construction <br />of an eleven-uni~ apartment house, in three separate buildings, on <br />property situated at the northeast corner of Evergreen Street and <br /> <br />St. Andrew Place, and from the Assistant Director of Public Works <br /> <br /> <br />
