Rogers, in the sum of $15,000.00, was ordered re- <br /> leased and improvements accepted as completed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, copy <br /> <br /> of communication of the Director of Public Works to the State Division <br /> of Highways requesting~ that a 12 inch vitrified clay pipe sewer be <br /> constructed across the Freeway at approximately station 385475 where <br /> the north and south property line crosses the Freeway, was received <br /> and filed. <br /> <br />On m~tion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, <br />communication and claim of Frank W. Wast, in the sum of $30~00, to <br />cover the cost of cleaning up trash and refuse blow~ from the City <br />Dump during the month of December onto his property at 16172 South <br />Harbor Boulevard, were referred to the Manager with authority to <br />imm e di at ely. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, Decision <br />No. ~9565 before the Public Utilities Commission to investigate on <br />the Commission's own motion, to establish a list of grade crossings <br />of railroads and city, county, or city and county highways ur~ently <br />in need of improved protection and to determine the nature of needed <br />improved protection at such crossings, was referred to the Manager <br />for report. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />application of the Pacific Greyhound Lines before the Public <br /> <br />Utilities Commission for authority to operate bus service between the <br />Junction of U.S. Highway 101 and Santa Clara Avenue, Santa Ana, and <br />the Junction of U.S.Highway 101 and extension of First Street, Santa <br />Aha, over an alternate route, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />excerpt from the Minutes of the Board of Supervisors, dated January <br />19th, 195~, was received and filed, advising that the request of the <br />City of Santa Aha to dispose of dirt and broken concrete on Santa Ana <br />River Levee Dikes was approved as recommended by the Orange County <br />Flood Control Engineer. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br />application of Gonzalo Mendez, 1211 E. 1st Street, was received and <br />filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />application of Vern C. Henshaw to drive taxicabs, was received, filed <br />and permit granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, ~he <br />annual report for 1953 of the Fire Department was received, filed and <br />referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br /> <br />
