Creating a Planning Commission On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of ~he Civitan Club of Azusa for a subscription to an advertisement in the program of the Junior College Baseball Tournamen' was received, filed and Clerk instructed to advise the Club that the Council does not wish to make the donation as it would be considered a gift of funds of the City. On recommendation of the Department of Public Works and on motion of Cou~c{lman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, California Gunite Company, Inc., was granted an extension of time to March 12th, 195~, for completion of contract for the construction of the Bristol Street Reservoir. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request of John K. Colwell, City Attorney, for a leave of absence from March 5th to March 22nd, 1954, was granted. . ~Communication was read from the Coast Federal Savings and Loan Association requesting that the Council deny the proposed rezoning of the area bounded by South Main Street, Delhi Road, Bristol Street and .SUnflower Street, and on motion of Councilman Dahl, 'seconded by Larsen and carried, the communication was received and filed. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Department of Public Works was authorized to make connection with the old concrete line easterly to the new vitrified clay line on Fairview Avenue on or near Occidental Street, at a cost not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars, including a. ll material and labor, and that payment therefor shall be made from the Construction Fund of County Sanitation District No. l, as directed by Minute Order Of County Sanitation District No. 1. . On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance establishing setback lines on each side of West First Street from Main Street to the westerly city limits by amending sub-section (e) of Section 9150, Part 2, Chapter l, Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code" was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the ing Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending the Santa Ana Municipal Code by repealing Part 3, Part 6, and Part 7 of Chapter 3 and Chapter 5 of Article II thereof, by assigning to said Chapter 5 a new title of 'Boards and Commissions' and by adopting Part 1 of said Chapter 5 creating a Planning Commission and establishing functions and duties thereof" was considered, designated Ordinance No. NS-27 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Absent, Councilmen Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Thomas F.
