Larsen <br /> <br />The Council having'unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and c.arried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 54-46 accepting Grant Deed <br /> conveying property in Civic Center Site" <br /> <br />from Arthur E. Confer, was considered and passed by the following vote <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen. <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br />Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. <br />None <br />Thomas F. Larsen <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. ~J~-47 concerning parking <br /> limitations and curb markings in accord- <br /> ance therewith" <br /> <br />establishing a yellow zone on the east side of North Sycamore Street, <br />between Tenth and Washington Streets, in accordance with the request <br /> <br />of J.H.Blggar Furniture <br />following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen <br /> <br /> Noes, Councilmen <br /> Absent, Councilmen <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman <br /> <br />Company, was considered and passed by the <br /> <br />William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br />Milf6rd W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler. <br />None <br />Thomas F. Larsen <br /> <br />Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br />written report submitted by the Manager on the widening of South Main <br />Street between McFadden and Bishop Streets, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />Manager was instructed to prepare a letter to be mailed to every prop- <br />erty owner in the area of the proposed project, stating the facts as <br />contained in ~he report and as recommended in paragraph five. <br /> <br />The Manager reported that the construction work in progress at the <br />northeast corner of Fourth and Bush Streets is creating a traffic <br />hazard and on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and <br />carried, the Manager and Attorney were instructed to prepare an amend- <br />ment to the Ordinance in regard to controlling the use of the streets <br />for construction purposes. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Better Business Bureau Division, and on <br />motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request <br />of ~he Blue Star Mother's of America to solicit funds on May 7th, <br />1954, was granted. <br /> <br />The Manager reported in regard ko request of Bruce W. Sumner, 2324 <br />Alona Street,.on behalf of a group of property owners in the'neighbor~ <br />hood, who are desirous of purchasing the City property located directl <br />beyond their properties and recommended that the City retain the prop- <br />erty for its own use for.repair and maintenance purposes to control <br />floodlwaters. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride <br />and carried, the recommendation was approved and Mr. Sumner to be <br /> <br />notified of Council action. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
