<br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the award
<br /> of contract for the construction of a roof over the Bristol Street
<br />
<br /> Reservoir was held over until April 19th, 1955.

<br /> On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl,
<br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of Tide Water Associated 0il
<br /> Company, was accepted for the furnishing of gasoline for the period
<br /> starting May 1st, 1955 and ending June 30th, 1955, and all other bids
<br /> rejected.

<br /> On recommendation of the Man4ger and on motion of Councilman Jerome,
<br /> seconded by McBride and carried, the bid of The Gamewell Company, in
<br /> the sum of $5,606.00, was accepted for the furnishing of Fire &larm~
<br /> boxes and Fire alar~ pedestals, and all other bids rejected.

<br /> On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl,
<br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of Harry F. Brewer, in the sum
<br /> of $6,871.00, was accepted for the installation of underground conduit
<br /> and furnishing appurtenances for the fire alarm system, and all other
<br />
<br /> bids rejected.

<br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending
<br /> approval of application of O.F. and Lois Argabright of site for high-
<br /> class trailer park on portion of an eleven acre parcel of land lying
<br /> on the south side of Wes~ First Street, approximately 355 feet east of
<br /> Sullivan Street, subject to the conditions of the Health Department.
<br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />
<br /> recommendation was approved and permit granted.

<br /> Communloa~ion was read from the Planning Commission recommending denia
<br /> of variance application of Dr. Joseph G. Tirico and Gabriel Bisceglia
<br /> to permit the'use of property at 2053 North ~oadway for an office for
<br /> the Chlldmen's Home Society of California. On mo~lon of Councilman
<br /> Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the recommendation of the Plann-
<br />
<br /> ing Commission was approved and variance denied.

<br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
<br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance
<br />granted to Carol M. Sutphin to permit the use of property at 2730 West
<br />First Street, for a golf driving range, with 12' x 12~ building to
<br />
<br />house equipment, and parking for fifteen cars.

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, Tentative
<br />Map of Tract No. 2171, submitted by Emmet C. Rogers, consisting of
<br />thirty-three lots located on both sides of Rosewood Avenue, which runs
<br />parallel to Baker Stree~ 230' to the east, between 21st Street and
<br />Santa Clara Avenue, with three lo~s south of 21st Street, and having
<br />
<br />setback lines of 20~, 28~' and 30', was approved.

<br />At the request of John M. Hoy, Tentative Map of Tract No. 2162, con-
<br />sisting of ten lots located northeast of ~he intersection of English
<br />and Eighth Streets, submitted by Mark Investment Company, was held
<br />
<br />over until the next meeting.
