<br />Attorney Robert E. Webb, representing the applicant said the storage
<br />yard would not be a detriment to the surrounding area and thc type of
<br />~aterials to be stored such as tires, Pubes, rims and used materials
<br />are hauled away twice a week. On motion of Councilman Jerome,
<br />seconded by Dahl and carried, the recommendation of the Planning
<br />Commission was approved and variance granted to Howard Ry~n, subject
<br />
<br />to the conditions as set forth by the Commlhsion.

<br />operation of a completely modern trailer court, withplaygro~nd
<br />facilities, in conjunction with the existing Kellog~s Motor Court, at
<br />2651 Santa And Boulevard, on portions of Lots z~ and 7, and all of Lots
<br />5 and 6, Block D, Tract 512, but that request to uss the~rest of the
<br />property involved in the application, for this purpose, consisting of
<br />Lot 2, Block C, and portions of Lot Y, Block D, and Lot l, Block C,
<br />Tract 512, be denied. Attorney M.S.Bernard, representing the applican
<br />objected to the recommendation of the Pl~n~n~ Commission and requested
<br />that the original request for vsriance on all of the lots be granted,
<br />and that he had pictures of the properties andwould g3t them from his
<br />office. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and csrried
<br />the matter was centinued until Attorney Bernard returned. The Council
<br />having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Counci!man McBride, ~eoonded by D~hl and carried, a Resolution grantin
<br />the variance on the original request, entitled:

<br />Communication of the Planning Commission ~:as read submitting Resolution
<br />No. 631 recommending the reclassification of property situated cn the
<br />south side of First Street between Lyon Street end Grand Avenue, from
<br />the R-l, R-2 and C-2 Districts, to the C-2 and M-1 Districts, in accord-
<br />ance with the application of Roy D. Lewis. On motion of Councilman
<br />Dahl, seconded by La'sen and carried, a notice was ordered published
<br />setting the public hearing dat~ as June 7th, 1954, and the Clerk
<br />instructed to include in said notice the description of al! property~
<br />south of Chestnut Street as contsined in the application for change of
<br />district classification, except the easterly 2~0~ alonE Lyon Street and
<br />the~westerly i50~ on each side of McClay Street, all Of said deletions
<br />being south of Chestnut Stre~t..
