Mtce. <br />~ Const. <br /> (driveways) <br /> <br />InRe <br />Requests for <br />over-size drive±ways, <br />boulevard stops, etc. <br />to committee <br /> <br />In Re <br />Renewal of l~ase <br />Agricultural <br />Extension Service <br /> <br />In Re <br />Communication <br />Air Pollution <br />Control <br />Regulations <br /> <br />In Re <br />Re-paving <br />3rd St. from <br />Ross to Spurgeon <br /> <br />In Re <br />Request ~ <br />B.H.Vance <br />(two-hour <br />parking) <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Director of Finance submitting a list <br />of persons delinquent in the payment of sales tax, and on motion of <br />Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, July 6th, 1954,' <br />was set as the date of hearing so that these persons may show cause <br />why their sales tax permits should not be revoked. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />request of S.D.Marlin, Santa Aha Self-Service Laundry, 325 Wer)t 17th <br />Street~ that a 24-minute zone be established in front of his place of <br />business, was referred to the ~ommittee on curb usage for recommend- <br /> <br />ation. <br /># <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Mcbride and carried, the <br />request of M and S Maintenance and Construction for permission to <br />construct three 33~ driveways at proposed service station to be <br />located on West 17th Street, at the end of King Street between English <br />Street and Townsr Manufacturing Company, was referred to the committee <br /> <br />on curb usage for recommendation. <br /># <br /> <br />It~was moved by Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, <br />that all requests for over-size driveways, parking zones, boulevard <br />stops, etc. be referred to the committee on curb usage before present- <br />ation to the Council in order that the appointed committee may make <br /> <br />its recommendations at the following meeting. <br />. <br />Communication was read frqm the County of Orange requesting' ren~w~l <br />of lease dated November l, 1951, for certain offices for use of the <br />Agricultural Ex.tension Service, at ll04 West Eighth Street, and on <br />motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Mcbride and carried, the <br />communication was received, filed and Mayor authorized to execute <br /> <br />renewal of lease. <br /> # <br /> <br />Communication was read from D.W. Tubbs, Air Pollution Control Officer <br />requesting cooperation of various officials in notifying any new <br />industries of the necessity of compliance with air pollution control <br />regulations, and on motion of Councilman Mcbride, seconded by Dabl and <br />carried, the communication was received, filed and copy ordered <br /> <br /> nished the Building Department to comply with the requirements. <br /> ~n motion Councilman Jerome, seconded Lateen and carried, the <br /> Of <br /> by <br /> <br /> report of Sidney L. Lowry, Civil Engineer, relative to the improvement <br /> of Third Street extending from Ross to Spurgeon Streets was received <br /> and filed. It was moved by Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and <br /> carried, that the Director of Public Works be authorized to proceed <br /> with the improvement of Third Street from Ross to Spurgeon Streets by <br /> force account, according to the original plans and specifications, wit~ <br /> <br /> the minor modifications recommended by the Civil Engineer. <br /> # <br /> <br /> The Manager recommended that a two-hour parking zone be established <br /> in the lO0'block East Pine Street reference the request of B.H.Vance, <br /> 221 South Main Street. On motion cf Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br /> Lateen and carried, the recommendation was approved and the Director <br /> of Public Works instr~cted to prepare a Resolution establishing the <br /> two-hour parking zone. <br /> <br /> <br />
