Hamon, 1501 Durant Street, stating that he over. <br /> heard the remark of two ou~-of-~ businessmen ghat the streets in <br /> Santa Ana are too narrow for property investments, was received and <br /> filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman. Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried,.the <br /> <br /> resignation of J.A.Harvey, Jr., as a member of the Civilian Defense <br /> Council <br /> and Disaster_/ was received, filed and ~he Civilian Defense GoQrdinator <br /> <br /> instructed to write a letter of thanks to Mr. Harvey for his services. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Courtney R. Chandler, Chairman, Civilian <br /> Defense and Disaster Council, expressing to the Council the appreciat3 on <br /> of all members of the Defense Council for the fine work and results <br /> obtained by the Civilian Defense Coordinator, Colonel E.J.McCabe, and <br /> on motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br /> communication was received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Byron-Jackson Company requesting a thirty <br /> day extension on the completion of the Bristol Street pumping plant <br /> installation. On recommendation of the Acting Director of Public <br /> Works and on motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and <br /> carried, the extension of thirty days was denied. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from O. Henry, 6451-55 Long Beach Boulevard, <br /> Long Beach, with reference to the worthiness of Harry I. Fink, Acting <br /> Chief of Police, and on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dah] <br /> and carried, the communication was received, filed and referred to the <br /> <br />Manager for recommendation. <br /> # <br /> <br /> <br />
